Thanks, it looks fun and gives me some interesting ideas for how to proceed on mine.

I like how goblin tribal is a subtheme at best. Also... Past in Flames with some one-shot ramp? That's some good stuff.

@ComradeJim270 After giving it some more testing I've added some stuff to help fortify the combo and also manipulate the deck to fit its needs. Out of all the challenges I got on the forum this deck is IMO the most interesting.

Alright, here are my suggestions for how to get to 40 damage easier (as you said that you can sometimes have trouble with this).

Also, I am glad to see Goblin Dark-Dwellers, which is super strong if you already have twinflame/heatshimmer in your graveyard, and if you have something like Battle Hymn and one of the cantrip spells, you can absolutely go wild.

Consider Spikeshot Elder instead of Grim Lavamancer.

She's an intriguing commander! I shelved my Zada project for the time being to focus on my other decks, but I want to revisit her for sure. There's some clever ideas here. Also noticing you looked at the new Chandra. I think she has a lot of potential.

ComradeJim270 I use her in mine as well, and all her abilities are fantastic for any Zada Deck. I've been considering using Sundial of the Infinite to allow me to keep the tokens she makes around, along with other things that make temporary tokens (like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Twinflame, and Heat Shimmer).

AndWelcomeToTheJam I nearly forgot. I absolutely can't recommend Mindmoil enough. Cantrip and then tear through your deck to get to your combo pieces.

Thanks 1empyrean! The only thing I had a question about while building this is copying spells targeted at Zada, like with Dualcaster Mage. I assumed that only the original spell would trigger Zada's ability, since the Dualcaster's copy is not "cast." Is this correct?

That's true. Copies just appear on the stack without having been cast.

@1empyrean To my knowledge, the Dualcaster Mage + Heat Shimmer / Dualcaster Mage + Twinflame combo cannot go infinite. Heat Shimmer resolves, then the token is produced. The spell has already been removed from the stack, so you can't target it with the token's ETB, becuase the ETB is a response to a spell's cast, not its resolution.

It works in the same sense that bouncing a spell with Venser, Shaper Savant does. The spell needs to remain on the stack in order to be a valid target.

Not to say that Dualcaster Mage is now a bad addition to the list. It responds well to countermagic and it's on a stick that Zada can buff. I just don't think it can produce that infinite in particular.

You cast Twinflame on Zada, Hedron Grinder. When Dualcaster Mage's copy enters the battlefield, you copy the original spell and change the target to Dualcaster Mage, then repeat this as many times as you want.

Oh, so the copy of Zada never enters the battlefield, thus the original spell never resolves, until you stop copying Dualcaster. Now I understand, thanks!

"AndWelcomeToTheJam"..... you are tottaly wrong... the combo work... but now how you saw... jejejeee... you have to cast first "Heat Shimmer" or "Twinflame".... andddddd... when there's on the stack you have to Flash "Dualcaster Mage"... Dualcaster resolves... copy Heat or Twin... and repeat... Don't work how you saw when Dualcaster is resolved...

=)
