Rest in Peace doesn't work with Tamiyo, the Moon Sage's emblem. I'd move the Rest in Peaces to your sideboard and consider putting in your Augur of Bolas.

I also think Drogskol Reaver would be amazing in your deck as a one-of.

I think Tamiyo is the one that needs to come out, not Rest in Peace. Rest in Peace is too central to my win-condition (Misthollow Griffin beat-sticks). And whenever I've used Tamiyo and got her up to 8 Loyalty, I've almost always had a D-Sphere/O-Ring in my hand to nix the Rest in Peace to just win with anything with the Emblem.

I've been tossing around the idea of sticking a lone Drogskol Reaver in the sideboard for control and mid-range match-ups, since a good deal of people side out most of their removal against me in favor of Rest in Peace hate. If Drogskol Reaver can just connect to the opponent once, that can decide the game on the spot. It's a 12-point swing and a free Divination for myself. Connect twice, and that's the ball-game.

If you have that much aggro in your meta, i would at least consider Feeling of Dread. I kind of hate suggesting it since it is generally a pretty bad card, but it could easily buy you 7-10 life as you wait for your wrath. It could be rather devastating with Blind Obedience.

Nevermind, I just remembered Rest in Peace.

Right? Feeling of Dread would just be a bad Fog with Rest in Peace out. This deck really needs a skilled hand to be built properly, which is why I love the challenge of trying to make it better.

What do you think about Augur of Bolas? He's always super awkward, but he does more good than bad and has a big butt to block some early-game beat-sticks.

I for one like Augur of Bolas. A dig for 3 that can draw you one is pretty good for control at 2 cmc. The trouble is what to remove. I'd suggest cutting some combination of charm, terminus, and misthollow.

I'm already set on removing Tamiyo from the main-board. And removing Terminus just hurts my chances against aggro. I can't really remove my Misthollow Griffins, since they're my only reliable win-condition.

I'm not too happy with Azorius Charm in this build currently. I feel as though it's more filler than anything else and it doesn't really do anything aside from occasionally offset 2 or 3 damage for a turn or Cycle out a card. I may try main-boarding Essence Scatter in addition to adding Augur of Bolas, since I'd want to keep my ratios of Sorcery and Instant spells up.

Going into edit mode, locking myself in, and not coming out until I'm satisfied.

Not a fan of Augur of Bolas. As I feared, I don't have enough Instants or Sorceries to make him worth the spot.

What about Inaction Injunction or Crippling Chill? Divine Deflection, Cyclonic Rift, Dramatic Rescue, Syncopate ... ?

I need some main-board-able answers to aggro decks.

Divine Deflection works a lot better if you've got creatures that'd supposedly trade with theirs.

I like inaction injunction and crippling chill because of the cantrips, though they don't permanently answer threats they're not too bad for digging for answers while stalling. i don't think i like the idea of having to pay 3 to tap a guy down and draw.

You've got a fair few enchantments in the deck... were Nevermore and Sphere of Safety considerations for the deck idea? I feel they could do pretty well here if you decide to go in that direction with the build. Without access to the graveyard for flashback i think enchantments would be the way forward in this deck...

While Sphere of Safety does have a hefty cmc I really think it will allow you to stabilize vs aggro. After you land it they may only be able to swing with 2 creatures at a time.

Amongst the ones that have appealed to me are

Agoraphobia, reusable and shuts down a creature's offensive prowess.

Curse of Exhaustion, Burning-Tree Emissary becomes pointless while the lucky charms deck can't exactly do its thing.

Martial Law, Arrest the opponents strongest creature each turn

Curse of Echoes, countering counters

Pacifism, a classic white removal spell that never ceases to frustrate opponents, you could upgrade to Arrest too

Though i'm not too keen on Curse of Echoes...

what do you think of Blustersquall . It'll slow one attacker down for a turn, which could buy you some time (effectively the same as putting a hasty creature on top with Azorius Charm ), or it can tap their entire team down in the mid to late game.

Kind of narrow though.

I read on effin'm that you were going to rebuild this list, I wanted to say a few things about misthollow control

  1. Misthollow control is still viable

  2. I highly suggest splashing a third color as it makes the list much better, i splashed red in my Murican Griffins list and only seem to have trouble when stuck on lands.

  3. You need another way to pump out damage, the 3 a turn that a griffin does is too slow, if they drop a tusk or other form of life gain it becomes a problem of time left in round especially if they won game one
