My first crack at making a Zaxara deck. I started playing magic almost a year ago and have been trying to build decks and improve my level of play. I don't have a lot of the awesome expensive cards like Doubling Season, Rhystic Study, or Cyclonic Rift for example. Since I have started playing I instantly realized I like to play big creatures and swing for a lot! So building a Hydra deck is a no brainer! When I saw Zaxara, the Exemplary I knew I had to build a deck around him.

I have started do in lots research and looked at a lot of awesome decks and got some great ideas. I have managed to get my hands on awesome cards to do the infinite mana combos: Pemmin's Aura + Zaxara, the Exemplary Freed from the Real + Zaxara, the Exemplary

I also struggle with combos. I still haven't learned what a lot of them are and how/when to use them. One card I really enjoy is Open Into Wonder. If you wait till a player is tapped out of mana and can't counter it then you play it and swing and there is nothing they can do about it! Easy win! I also recently stumbled on Retribution of the Ancients. This would allow for an easy way to get rid of creatures with indestructible for example.

Anyways I would love any advice, suggestions, and/or comments on how to make this budget deck more competitive!
