I would personally add some X-CMC instant spells so you can create tokens at instant speed. Most of them are pretty affordable as well and can control the board.

Also, a cheap alternative for Freed from the Real and Pemmin's Aura is Instill Energy and Nature's Chosen. Though they only work at sorcery speed and only during your turn once per turn.

I mean I have a pemmin's aura so that's not really a problem, it's just in another deck atm. Also sorcery speed and once per turn doesn't come remotely close to the originals at all, I wouldn't even entertain that idea when I could just run something like Kiora's Follower if I wanted a generic untapper.

I'm not really looking to fill my deck with instants, it's a hydra tribal deck, not an x-costed infinite deck. Cards like Syncopate and Squall Line are definitely worth thinking about though.

Great deck definitely deserves a +1. Have you thought of adding in The Ozolith? It will make your hydras huge!

My budget is whatever cards I can get whenever I can get them (generally not expensive ones) and I don't make any competitive decks ever lol

• Hurricane can help you clear the sky and makes damage to everyone at the table
• As you are already planing to add Syncopate, there is also Power Leak and Condescend

@xram666: Well, if I was going to use a flying sweeper I would use Squall Line due to it being an instant. As for more counterspells, the only problem I'm encountering there is deck space. To include those I'd need to cut card draw or utility or otherwise something like a Hydra.

I personally like to stick very strongly to the themes of my deck so this deck is very likely to always stay an extremely creature heavy, primarily green deck with as many hydras and things that synergize with hydras and +1/+1 counters as I can fit.

If I do ever cut something for another x-costed counter spell though I'd cut Plasm Capture for Spell Burst specifically to take advantage of my ramp and have a re-usable counterspell + source of tokens.
