Maybeboard

Break your friends' hearts by drawing a quarter of your deck before the start of your turn! Crush the spirits of your play group by pairing Prime Speaker Zegana with Deadeye Navigator and taking twenty minute turns as your opponents inch closer to a painful, grueling demise! Simic guildmaster Prime Speaker Zegana is available for demotivational public speaking, and specializes in proliferating despair at weddings, funerals, bar mitzvahs and high school graduations!

Heavy card draw leads to massive mid-to-late game advantages, with an ample suite of counter magic and bounce spells for protection throughout. Often, an entwined Tooth and Nail into Avenger of Zendikar and Craterhoof Behemoth spells death for your opponents. Alternatively, multiple clones of a Craterhoof already in play can end games with all-out assault. However, establishing board and hand dominance is possibly the deck's most reliable win condition, as a stuffed grip of 20-25 cards with 20 untapped mana, Prophet of Kruphix and Capsize is pretty deflating to the other players at the table.

Crystal Shard, Simic Charm , Familiar's Ruse , and Deadeye Navigator can be used to exploit the ETB effects of Prime Speaker Zegana or other useful creatures. Praetor's Counsel on a packed graveyard is extremely powerful, and with all the ramp in the deck you can quite easily accumulate 10-12 mana by turn five or six. My only complaint is that I wish I owned a hand-painted Zegana alter. Edric, Spymaster of Trest is just an alternate commander in case I ever get tired of looking at Zegana. NOTE: I have not yet tired of looking at Zegana. My play group, on the other hand...

Several of the cards in the maybe section are actually on my wish list, and would be in the deck if I owned them. Grim Monolith, for example, would replace Thran Dynamo for infinite colorless mana with Mana Reflection (wait no, screw infinite mana combos).

This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite EDH decks to pilot, rivaled perhaps by Roon of the Hidden Realm. My group has also come to a consensus that the deck is simultaneously fun and challenging to play against. I've learned/chosen not to abuse Tooth and Nail every single time I can feasibly resolve it, and I've added a few different paths to victory so I'm not always controlling the board with disruption and counter magic while ramping into Craterhoof Behemoth + Avenger of Zendikar for the blowout.

I feel like the deck is pretty well tuned, so at this point I'm looking for ways to swap in cards from the maybe section. Help me find room for them!

Updates Add

So, Sylvan Primordial got banned, and I figure Woodfall Primus is the next best thing, because I don't like Terastodon's downside. That said, I've made a few changes:

+Woodfall Primus
+Spike Weaver because fog
+Archetype of Endurance because hexproof
+Kiora, the Crashing Wavefoil
+Kiora's Follower
+Future Sight

-Sylvan Primordial because ban hammer
-Solemn Simulacrum to make room for Kiora
-Consecrated Sphinx because Zegana tends to net me enough card draw

After these changes, I still need to cut 3 cards. Help me out!
