Considering that you're running infinite combos, you might as well put that Aluren in. If it ever gets out and sticks, you can win the game remarkably quickly from there. If you take that route, having Drift of Phantasms is nice to tutor to then tutor Cloudstone Curio .

Also Seedborn Muse + Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir results in a horrible game for opponents.

I actually had Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir in there once but took him out (can't remember why). After looking at it again i think he's going back in (replacing Leyline of Anticipation probably). And ya Aluren is going in, i use my maybe board for both cards im considering and cards i need to get still. Although not built like most vig decks (with all cmc 3 or less creatures to combo with Aluren ) i think it'll work fine as a off-side win-con. I'm not going to go out of my way to combo with it (so Drift of Phantasms isn't necessary), i'll just use it if i draw it type of thing. Thanks for the input!

I'm playing a similar deck but without infinite combos because we play in a very friendly format. Also removed Deadeye Navigator because it's so broken in the deck :D

I'd recommend removing Diluvian Primordial for Sylvan Primordial as its effect is generally more relevant to board control. Similarity I would add Woodfall Primus for another ETB that destroys a non-creature. Persist is just a bonus.

i have both primordials already in there and i took out Woodfall Primus for the Sylvan Primordial previously as it is the most lackluster of the 3 (Woodfall Primus , Sylvan Primordial and Terastodon ). Diluvian Primordial is just far too useful to take out at the moment.

and yes deadeye single-handedly wins games

Fair enough, how about Tolaria West to help you find Reliquary Tower ?

Another idea; so you are using creature etb effects to synergise with zegana. It might change things up a little but since you dont need to "cast" the creatures any more to gain benefits with momir, why dont you trade some of your smaller creature utility cards with bigger ones (to help zegana) and then put in a bunch of ways to cheat them out (AEther Vial , AEtherplasm , Belbe's Portal , Cryptic Gateway , Deathrender , Elvish Piper , Hypergenesis , Norwood Priestess , Quicksilver Amulet , Root Elemental , Shifty Doppelganger , Wild Pair ). Wow I had no idea there were so many of those lol, I may have just gotten some insparation to make a deck of my own.

In this way you get the increased benefits of high cmc creatures, you get increased benefit from zegana, your creatures are harder to counter (assuming they dont counter the "put creature from hand to battlefield" mechanics) and you get big hitters. You could really synergise and do some silly things like Patron of the Orochi +Thousand-Year Elixir /Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger /Seedborn Muse /Murkfiend Liege /Soul of the Harvest etc to chain out massive creatures, you can do much of this at instant speed (keeping your mana open for counters cough Draining Whelk cough) and at the end of it all, you have a bunch of massive hitters. BAM!

...along with the big stuff you already have in there.

thanks for the suggestions but a lot of them don't really fit my theme and others were in my deck before but were cut for various reasons. Craterhoof Behemoth is about the only solid card i will consider at the moment. basically if it doesn't have an etb ability it better be fantastic to make the cut (like Tidespout Tyrant ).

If you have the ability to blink out lands, I would recommend Halimar Depths . Yes it comes in tapped, but letting it enter the battlefield every once in a while can give you come great card advantage.

This deck is so beautiful. T-T

+1. I'd +1 it again if I could.

I'd replace the Diluvian Primordial with Chancellor of the Spires. You get less spells sure but you can blink the chancellor to abuse the same spell (especially if its somethign like Demonic Tutor).

You run an infintie mana combo, but nothing to really abuse it. Laboratory Maniac / Blue Sun's Zenith are both really good.

I'd also recommend running more land, 34 feels too low. Especially since the dekc deosn't run things like Nature's Lore / Skyshroud Claim. Also, Exploration would be really good for the deck with the card advantage your general provides.

I would keep Momir Vig, Simic Visionary in the 99. I have my own Zegana list and between cyclonic rift, prophet of kruphix, rhystic study etc, I still think he's the most broken card in there.

Why aren't you running Laboratory Maniac?

February 16, 2016 12:06 a.m.

Is Murkfiend Liege banned from commander(edh)?

Sorry for the late replies everyone!

@Matrixxx999: I took your advice and added Ghostly Flicker and it's proving invalualbe; also added Birthing Pod to the maybeboard as I agree that it could potentially be awesome here, I just don't know what i'd take out... Blue Sun's Zenith seems kind of like a win-more card to me and Azusa, Lost but Seeking is only good if you have a hand full of land and doesn't have an etb trigger (which is a big deal to me). Coiling Oracle was in a previous version of the deck and was cut a few months ago as playtesting proved it was underwhelming. Thanks for the suggestions!

@Assassin_ian98: I find that Laboratory Maniac is kind of a card that requires appropriate deck building to accommodate it's wincon and is completely useless by itself so I wanna shy away from it in this deck as I want all my creatures to be useful by themselves and have an etb abilitiy (with rare exception). If I were playing dimir I'd probably go that route though for sure!

@Mono-White-Man: Nope Murkfiend Liege isn't banned in edh and frankly I'd run it if it untapped my lands too. With the banning of Prophet of Kruphix my only other option that hits lands as well is Seedborn Muse which is a star player in the shadow of the former powerhouse.

Always glad to help! I feel the same about Azusa, but I can't abandon it, because it allows explosive way to start the game. As an alternative there is Oracle of Mul Daya, it can compete in value with Azusa, because it gives you card advantage.

I would consider to cut these cards: Draining Whelk, Chancellor of the Spires, Progenitor Mimic, Cryptic Command. Have you considered Nature's Claim? It can replace Krosan Grip, for gaining more speed in your answers.
