Not sure for the rest. One question, would you consider Chained to the Rocks to replace either 2 or all 4 of the Pacifism ? It requires at least one mountain, but it exiles (making all enchantments fall off) and it is only a one drop

@pl_walker you can't use chained to the rocks it is rare not pauper the other sideboard cards are good choices though.

Does targeting the same thing twice with Martial Glory trigger Heroic twice?

@SignMaster99 currently the consensus is NO I am still looking for an official answer.

According to the herioc is states "cast a spell that targets" I am leaning towards no it does not as you are still casting a single spell that targets the Heroic creature.

However you can trigger heroic on two different creatures with a single cast of this spell.

Matteus is is correct. If you cast martial glory and use bot to +0/+3 AND +3/+0 on a single creature, it is a single target. Giving one creature +3/+0 and another +0/+3 would count as two triggers, and they would each benefit.

This is really cool. Love Madcap Skills and Ethereal Armor . So much damage so quickly!

Thanks JakeHarlow, it has won entirely too many pauper games and quite a few match ups against full standard decks too.

The only problems it has is top decking too early in the game. Usually the game will be over before that.

Yeah, I know what you mean about topdecking too fast. I have a Boros aggro-Voltron deck of similar speed that runs into the same problem. Problem with these types of decks is also that they have a ton of trouble recovering from removal. I try to protect myself with Gods Willing or Brave the Elements , because losing an enchantment target results in bad card disadvantage. Still, heroic control decks with Agent of the Fates can be deadly if you don't come out fast enough or have ways to stop removal threats.

My favorite hand when I was using this back when Hopeful Eidolon was still on the roster. Iwas was a 3 player FFA. Turn 1 -> Boros Guildgate Turn 2 -> Plains + Akroan Skyguard Turn 3 -> Plain + 3 Ethereal Armor = 13/13 Akroan Skyguard . Swing at opponent 1Turn 4 -> Mountain + Bestowed Hopeful Eidolon = 18/18 Lifelink Akroan Skyguard. Eliminate Opponent 1. I had about 35 life.Turn 5 -> Swing at opponent 2 and instant Titan's Strength for a 22/20 Lethal strike and I end the game with about 50 life

@CelticStag I am keeping Hopeful Eidolon in the sideboard now as I am trying out Wojek Halberdiers in place to see what happens.

I am actually only playing this deck at pauper tournaments now as it is honestly not fun for casual environment being so fast and deadly.

I was too. My opening hand was luck. The most I've gotten since is a 13/13 flyer. I've actually never seen an akroan crusader in 10 games so I'm looking for a possible substitute. I like the eidolon, and the later game bestow works out fairly well. a 1/1 red soldier token is small compared to the power that the skyguard brings, and I want to make that more consistent

I am considering Akroan Crusader for my Voltron Boros. He provides you with good protection from force-sac, since you can always dump your 1/1 soldier. I had problems with f-sac in an Orzhov control matchup recently. Probably also had to do with me not drawing well.

How has the Crusader performed here?

Hi, i am intending to use this on a regular FNM, what non-pauper cards could i add and what would i remove? currently i plan to add Boros Charm and remove maybe 2x Shock and 1 Martial Glory . What you think?

First of all I would ditch the gates for shock lands and scrylands.

4x Boros Charm would work wellYou will also need a couple of smashers for late game so Boros Reckoner to replace the wojacks

You might want to also take a quick look at other heroic rares to replace the akroans with.

I haven't actually built a non pauper version yet. I will get round to it someday.

Update on my work tournament results... This deck is 5-0 in matches and 10-2 in actual games.

Match 1 vs Red aggro (2-0) - I was somewhat concerned with his burn ability, but he went (IMO) a little too creature heavy and shocking a +2/+0 hasted minotaur is just fun.

Match 2 vs Gruul (burn)(2-1) - I never should have lost the middle game. I didn't attack one turn forgetting that Madcap Skills means he had to have two blockers. He burned me down and killed with a couple of giant growths.

Match 3 vs Gruul (slivers) (2-0) - This match had near perfect draws for me and I burned his stuff down before it got going. (Sideboarded in two Solemn Offering and one Plains .)

Match 4 vs "Simic" Infect (2-0) - I was nervous about this and Match 5 because of infect. Sideboarded out Hopeful Eidolon in favor of Nyxborn Shieldmate and Wojek Halberdiers . Also dropped one each of the remaining creatures and added in the other two Solemn Offering . Was able to pacify, Shock , and Solemn Offering my way to both victories.

Match 5 vs Black Infect (2-1) - Messed up with game 2, keeping a hand I shouldn't have (No Akroan Crusader or Akroan Skyguard ) and also didn't realize one of his enchantments gave his creature intimidate. (I had a Pacifism in hand and would have used it the turn before, but I had Gods Willing and was going to block to get more of his enchantments on that creature before I pacified.) Game 3 I had 9 poison counters, but I got him top decking and was able to pull it out.

Remaining matches:Black randomness with removalGolgari with deathtouch and removal

I'll pull the Nyxborn Shieldmate and Wojek Halberdiers . As nice as the larger creature is (Halberdier), I find that against removal I rarely have enough creatures to trigger Battalion. Besides, I may need the life gain that Hopeful Eidolon gives.

I'll report back when I'm done, but I REALLY, REALLY love this deck. I'd +1 again if I could.

2pl_walker that is great news - I played at my weekly pauper tournament on tuesday but I played another brew :( should have played this one. After the tournament I beat every deck that beat my other brew.

@markartur I would through in

• 4x Boros Reckoner instead of nyxborn
• 4 x Boros Charm instead of shocks
• 4x Rootborn Defenses in place of martial glory and 1 titans strength and 1 gods willing

This way you can activate the infinite life comboReplace ALL gates with Temple of Triumph for scry then add in a couple of Sacred Foundry

That would make it have a little better late game and still give you similar speed to keep your opponent defensive in early game.

You might want to add some draw and Elixir of Immortality to reshuffle your graveyard back into your library if you lose too many cards from board.

If it were to become unstandard, I would suggest switching out Pacifism for Chained to the Rocks

nutellaisgreaterthanlife this is pauper chained to rocks is rare and therefore not allowed to be used.

PriestessKikyo1 I like that card but it doesn't fit the deck theme or add value being that is triggers nothing in the deck. The deck synergy is heroic triggers and enchantments to buff the ethereal armor to make massive smash creatures on turn 2 or 3.
