I just wanted to say that I have been out of magic for a while and am now returning. The wife is kicking me out next friday for a girl's night so I am taking this to FNM just to get back into the swing of things. Thanks for taking the time to work on this I've been play testing it and turn 5 this baby goes!

play tested it against my GW aggro. My deck kinda stomped it flat.. nyxborn rollickers were dying left and right.

blakxjokerx if you are referring to your You Gone and Fucked Up Now deck then I am not surprised. You playtested a $9 commons only deck against your $145 standard FNM deck.

This is a pauper commons deck, and if you are focused on running the nyxborns as your main creatures in attack then this deck was played wrong.

The playing of this deck goes as follows most times.

Turn 1: Drop mountain and Akroan CrusaderTurn 2: Drop plains and cast something like Titans Strength on Akroan and then ethereal armor Swing with ALL for 7Turn 3: madcap skills akroan swing for 6 plus the other 3 attackers if you likeTurn 4: Cast something swing for lethal.

The rest of the turns if there are any pretty much go the same. I have beaten Modern and FNM decks this way but this deck is in NO MEAN meant to be competitive outside of PAUPER tournaments.

I'll buy the stuff to build this deck tomorrow, but I would like to know if there are any other non-common cards which I could use to make it even stronger. I'm not going to play pauper, but not going to play any badass tournament neither, I'll only playing small championships with friends and stuff. But anyway, if there are any other card that I could use to get it stronger, such as Boros Charm, idk. Btw, congratz, this is an amazing deck!

Pedrograziano Here are some cards that would make this a little better non pauper

Boros Charm , Boros Reckoner , Rootborn Defenses , gutter snipe replace the gates with shock lands or temples. Shocklands would be better as you can get R/W mana on turn 1.

haha sorry man no, i was only kidding about the rollickers. Your deck didnt get the best draws so eventually after all the enchanted creatures died, there were only rollickers left. I was only jealous of your tons of upvotes to begin with haha :p

So, guys, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you again with my newbie questions, but there's something I would like to know hahah. So, I bought all the commons listed here to build the base of the deck, and a few other non-commons, such as 2 Boros Charm and 2 Guttersnipe . So, I'm really not sure about the replacementes that should be operated in order to make the deck even stronger. Do you guys have any suggestion? :P I'm also no sure if I should put some extra manas, 1 of each color, for instance. Again, I'm sorry for bothering haha. And thank you very much, dudes!

Well this is a pauper deck, so to add uncommons, you'll be making it a normal standard, since the deck itself is made to be played specifically against other decks that only use commons. I'm sure there are tons of cards that would benefit the deck if it were a standard deck.

To answer your question:I would replace 2 Gods willing with 2 boros charm (since the protection and indestructible are similar, it's the least impact you can go while keeping consistency.

Guttercsnipe is a bit slow for this deck (the goal is to win by turn 4, so the slow burn that guttersnipe gives should be irrelevant), but I would replace 2 nyxborn rollicker with 2 guttersnipe. Your goal is to be bestowing onto either skyguards or crusaders anyways, and rollicker only gives a +1/+1 advantage (though it also fuels ethereal armour), so it's again the least impact you'll get for the deck, since you'll almost always have something better to cast than a rollicker.

If there is someone else who is planning to use this pauper as a base and then playing standard (I'm not sure if all of these cards play standard, but they still work if you play for fun :P), like I did, there are some cards that are working pretty well, helping me to kick asses even more quickly: 4x Chained to the Rocks , 2x Legion Loyalist and 2x Boros Charm . And replacing the 4 Shock for 4 Lightning Bolt . Thanks again for all those who helped me! :)

I'm looking to expand mine, but I really want to read up on all the JOU cards first. I have this OCD about having as many cards fro the same block as possible. I hate having to resort to Ravnica or M14 so Once I get a better idea of the playability of red/white (right now I'm mostly black/green with the Nyx release) I'll likely see what can be done.

Though lightning bolt is M13, so that would pull it all the way into modern. That's a whole new can of worms

Av1v Those would be great adjustments to make if you were building a non pauper version of the deck for regular standard play.

Being that this is a Commons only Pauper those suggestions cannot be applied as they are all Rares.

Cool list. I'm going to try running this as well. I have always wanted to start playing this format and Boros is one of my favorite combos in the game.

If you can make Armament of Nyx work, double strike is probably one of the more powerful effects in the pauper format - in general in Magic, double strike is a mechanic that tends to generate wins quick and out of the blue.

The enchantment condition is definitely a big drawback in the format, but you can go hopeful eidolon into ethereal armor x2 (swing for 7 lifelink) into armament of nyx (swing for 9 twice with lifelink). That actually sounds pretty powerful, and it's a turn 3 win if you can pull it off.

Would you perhaps think about switching out a couple Akroan Crusader for some Satyr Hoplite s?

I wouldn't the thing with the crusader is that it generates tokens and overwhelms while the satyr just gets fat

There's one reason why you want crusader over hoplite. Devour Flesh . Black control decks run a playset of this because it's the simplest answer to a battlecruiser deck, and will a lot of the time be a two or three for one (control players don't care about your life total most of the time). With crusader, you get the additional 1 power but in a way that is mostly immune to spot removal. The deck i submitted includes a 1-of Shrivel to counteract this exactly.

It can also lead to huge blowouts like overcharged Dynacharge and strived Rouse the Mob
