Thanks zombiebrains2535 I was able to get out a 5/5 Akroan Crusader on turn 3 which is pretty fast.

sadly you are wrong on the akroan crusader, did you read his effect? akroan crusader gives you a 1/1 soldier token with haste for his heroic. not a +1/+1 counter. other than that small detail, its really good for pauper format

I got my Akroans mixed up the Akroan Skyguard gets the +1/+1 counter the crusader pumps out tokens. :) Thanks for catching that.

Nice deck. I love pauper - this thing is wicked fast. Maybe sideboard some enchant kill for taking out gods? Few things more satisfying then seeing a $10 deck pulp a $300 one lol.

you need to put Martial Glory in the place of Battlewise Valor , because it is just all around better, as it targets 2 creatures for the same amount of mana, I would also suggest Coordinated Assault because it also targets 2 cards and only for 1 mana.

LOVE seeing pauper decks that works as good as this one! +1 from me. Cheap and fun to play is what I look for in a deck.

Why not switch Battlewise Valor for Titans Strength?

samuraizack I did look at titan's strength but I would rather have the additional +1 on toughness. If I swap out the battlewise I am going to be going with Martial Glory for the +3/+3 and lose the scry.

Losing the scry is a tough decision, being able to scry and remove that top deck land REALLY wins games. The deck works on 3 lands in play once you have your 3 being able to scry off the top deck lands keeps the forward momentum going.

You end up top decking so quickly so any chance you can get to maximize each draw is worth keeping in the deck.

Maybe Fall of the Hammer + Messenger's Speed ? When you attack, throw the Messenger's Speed at their blocker and assign left over damage to them. Another card to maybe consider is Armed for the Heroic trigger and the double strike. Just my thoughts :3

Truth be told I say keep Battlewise Valor . Like you said, that scry is far too important.

What I might suggest is removing some, if not all the Hopeful Eidolon . I assume you just use him as a creature and only bestow as a last ditch effort since it's expensive for this deck.

Given that this is an aggro deck, life-gain is probably not a huge concern. Targeting 2 Akroan Crusader with Martial Glory more than makes up taking out the eidolon's.

I'll admit though, Titan's Strength could be something to consider.

Golem_Token The Martial Glory would be a great addition and I am contemplating it seriously.

Although the bestow cost of the Hopeful Eidolon is high they do however buff up the Ethereal Armor when they are out in play. So effectively it is a 1 drop +1/+1 buff and a 1/1 creature. It is a tough call to make on removing them for another 2 drop.

For the cost of a martial I can drop Ethereal Armor + Hopeful Eidolon for a permanent +2/+2 AND a 1/1 creature vs a 1 time +3/+3.

Its a tough call to make.

Definitely a lot to think about here.

A last suggestion for the night. What about Nyxborn Shieldmate over the eidolon? You still get a 1 drop creature that combos with ethereal, you just lose lifelink to an extra toughness. Plus his bestow is 1 colourless cheaper.

Just trying to think in terms of quickness and cost.

A lot of the incoming suggestions are great however each is a trade off for permanent buff for instant spells which will of course trigger the herioc but detract from the Ethereal Armor every time I add an instant or remove an enchantment creature I am lessening the impact of the armors but increasing the herioc potential. Assuming I have an ethereal in play replacing an enchantment spell with an instant is a hard call.

The enchantment triggers the heroic and also buffs the armor. An instant would only trigger the heroic.

The synergy comes from the multi trigger when casting Aura/Enchantments into the battlefield.

Golem_Token The Nyxborn Shieldmate now we are cooking with fire I would happily replace the Hopeful Eidolon with those keeping all the benefits of the eidolon and lowering the bestow cost.

I would cut the Guildgates for basics. This way you're never slowed by your land play. +1 :)

He has to keep them for the mana fix. Plus, those are the only common dual lands, I think.

Also, what about Mutagenic Growth ? You can 0 drop it to guarantee a kill on your opponent when they don't block. It also Heroic procs but I think you want more enchantments than instants.

Have you considered Cavalry Pegasus ? I know it competes for your two slot but it basically makes your Crusader and all the tokens it makes a Skyguard.

@Necrotize The pegasus would be an ok card for the deck but there is literally nothing that I would be willing to remove to add it.

All of the creatures are heroic or enchantments to buff the Ethereal Armor taking anything out for the Pegasus would hurt the deck synergy.

@Flareking99 That is exactly right I have them in for the fix and they are a benefit when you have a good hand of cards but only a boros. You can drop boros and on turn two start the fun without taking a muligan.

I cannot use the mutagenic, it is not standard. This is a standard pauper deck for a standard pauper tournament we have at our LGS on Tuesday afternoons. Although that would be a great card if I took the deck to a non standard format. Though for that I would design a completely new deck.
