My attempt of a working, fun to play deck using the uncommenly seen "Zur-Taa Ancient" as effectiv as possible in a budget-deck.
Lets take a look at the cards.
Zur-Taa Ancient: Gives all lands of all players the doubled mana-production. So its very risky to play this little fallow. The main idea is to use the high amount of mana more effektivly than the enemy. Plus he is 7/5 for 5 Mana, which is really pretty solid.
X-manacost-cards: Hydras and clan defiance basicly. Here you can use as much mana as you like for a single spell. With an ancient on the battlefield X should be at least 6.
Satyr and Druid: pushing your early and reducing the life of your enemy.
Wasteland Viper and Ooze: pretty nice blocker early on. Plus you can give deathtouch in some situations (like to use it with "dangerous").
Ghor-Clan Rampager: yeah...way overpowered anyway. Gives your doublestike-Hydras or your Ancient trample and so the opportunity to onehit your opponent.
Armed / Dangerous: the finisher. An Ancient with +1/+1 and doublestrike deals 16 damage in a single attack and is really hard to block thanks to "Dangerous"
Savage Summoning: not tested now. Theoreticly it can bring your Ancient at the end of the enemys turn. So you got double-mana with all your lands untapped before he does.
Some of the other cards can be replaced. There are some nice X-Mana-creatures out there. Or ground assault by an instant. You maybe get the idea...
