I haven't tested the deck yet but I like the conceot. It now needs to be tunned.
The artifacts that cheat my dragons into play work nostly as a plan b. The main idea is to use Zirilan. Only if I'm not able to use it (tucked away, killed too main times or whatever) will I use them as a way of putting out dragons through Belbe's Portal and Quicksilver Amulet.
I dislike red's looting but that might be the best option here. More so with Soldevi Digger and Reito Lantern in the deck. This deck doed need card drawing badly. I will try to understand if Dragon Mage and Knollspine Dragon are enough first.
Other than that, I do believe that I need free sac outlets to avoid exiling my dragons if Sundial of the Infinite isn't available. Goblin Bombardment would be useful. I need to check what else is out there that does the same. Wish Brion were mono-red though.

Here's a couple cards that would be great in your build:
Thousand-Year Elixir - Copies Zirilan's ability and gives him haste with his activated ability.
Rings of Brighthearth - Copies Zirilan's ability
Magewright's Stone - Lets you use Zirilan's ability again
Dragon Tyrant - He's high cost as heck but.. think of him as a finisher. He's got firebreathing to boot!

All great additions, don't doubt. I'm, not using Dragon Tyrant currently because I don't have any available. Will consider adding one later on if any of my friends has it.Thousand-Year Elixir and Magewright's Stone/Puppet Strings (I'm unsure if I have the Stone available atm while being sure I have Strings) are things I'll consider, no doubt. Should I reduce on the dragons themselves? No Rings of Brighthearth available though. And not much interested in acquiring them. Its a budget deck that and right now I haven't had to buy a single card to build it. Rings isn't THAT much expensive but there are other priorities right now. Still, a good card, no doubt.

Yeaahhh! I still find it hilarious. Flying, trample, double strike and firebreathing. So much value.

Indeed. I just don't know what to remove for it. And should I add Moltensteel Dragon too?

After some testing, my major problem is the fact that I tend to end up with many dragons clogging my hand. I'm looking for ways to cycle them though. Faithless Looting, Tormenting Voice, Wild Guess, Rummaging Goblin and Shattered Perception look interesting enough to solve this problem. Jaya Ballard, Task Mage also looks good for discarding purposes since there's always at least 1 player using blue in my playgroup.
Unsure about what to remove to add them. Safe Haven is an easy pick, if I'm to go this path.

I'm trying to squeeze in Berserkers' Onslaught, Dragon Tempest and Dragonlord's Servant. What to remove? Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Thunderbreak Regent is generally bad in EDH, but there might be a place for it here...

I know. But have you seen its cost? Besides, most spells on my group are mass removal. There are feq spot removal spells running around...
Either way its on my wishlist for when its price drops.

I have a spare I'd be glad to be rid of/trade off if you've got stuff in Maralen's Pact. I'm trying to build this in 2 weeks...

Well, from what you have deck listed I only have stuff.that costs a few cents. Archfiend, Whispersilk Cloak, Coat of Arms, 1 or 2 Shadowborn Apostles.. Not much of a trade there.
Besides, I'm from Europe.
I'll be updating the deck list this weekend. I'm trying to speed up the deck and addapt it a bit to counter a few strategies in my playgrouo (looking mostly at damage prevention and life gain).

Batterskull and Loxodon Warhammer might be useful then

I've been thinking about solving this conundrum the way red usualy does. Its much more thematic, you know?
Sulfuric Vortex and Leyline of Punishment seem much better suited for this task since they solve the problem with both lifegain decks (they don't use lifegain as a winning condition but to live until they can win) and the less regular (but still irritating) control decks that run Holy Day and its ilk. Besides, my group is very casual which means that the less used cards are much more interesting. My only grip with Vortex is that it also bleeds me which means that all my opponent's have to do is keep me at a slightly lower HP to win. Then again, Claws of Gix gets rid of it in a pinch if needed be.

Have you ever considered Final Fortune + Isochron Scepter because its infinite turns with Sundial of the Infinite. Btw, this deck is absolutely awesome. great job +1.

That forces me to sac my mana in a mana-hungry deck. That's not much of an option.

I don't know. I enjoy Mana Echoes but I don't think this to be the place for it.

Oh! klone13, I just saw your comment. Thanks for the +1. :) I already run Final Fortune shenaniggans on another deck (a more seriously competitive one). I'm not using it here because of a. variety and b. its one very powerful combo and using FF on another deck would turn too much hate on me. But yes, it is one good suggestion. I'll keep it on the sideboard.

Right now I'm updating the deck and I'm unsure about something. Would like to know your thoughts on it: I'm going to add Rishadan Pawnshop but unsure if I should remove Reito Lantern or Soldevi Digger. I'm more inclined on the removal of the Lantern due to mana costs (it activates for 3 mana while the other cards activate for 2). Yet it can help me agains reanimation attempts while the Digger forces me to pay attention on how I order stuff that goes to the grave...
Major updates ahead.

I would remove a dragon in all honesty. Reito Lantern is repeatable which makes it awesome.

One mana shouldn't make a difference most of the time so I'd suggest cutting the Digger to cut down on headaches

Ok. What about Spawn of Thraxes, Bogardan Hellkite or Ryusei, the Falling Star? Spawn seems nice and all but its an odd card that might require a build more centered on basic lands. I like it since it can be useful in the late game. Ryusei has the ability to earthquake for 5 which can be quite useful (and it is bound to die quite easily in this deck since its something I'd like to sacrifice), making it good tech against several decks. Hellkite does seem a bit subpar. Sure, I can distribute the damage any way I want.. But no matter what its only 5 damage and its flash ability is pointless in this deck.
