Been a while since I've seen this deck and wow it's changed! You should probably update the description. Kinda sad that Sidisi and crew are gone, but this is a sweet deck!

qgameracep My intention wasn't to prove you wrong or make fun of you. I'm sorry if it came off like that, completely unintentional. I was simply trying to explain and rationalize my choice.

nateblego Dude, I know. Lots to update, I'll probably have it all done by this Friday. You're right, it has changed a lot. It's a much different approach to the Zombie overwhelm strategy. It really does suck Sidisi is rotating out, she was probably my favorite card from Tarkir(other than Assault Formation, which we thankfully still have). I appreciate you still being here, it means a ton. On a side note, do you have any suggestions? I've been looking for ways to combat all the Tribal Aggro strategies that will come with the new set without wiping my own board as well, but I'm not having a lot of luck. I need a lot of SB help.

amazingdan I get that I was not upset at all just making some bad humor and that I understand why you would make those choices

Side note the other tribes like zombies have some weaknesses like the vampires will be discarding a ton of cards because they have allot of synergy with madness those deck have lots of good walkers as win condtions like Sorin,Arlinn Kord,Nissa and Chandra so walker hate might be good negate is good for spells and a card that I board in often that destroys people is dragonlord slumgar Encase in ice is great for Werewolf tribe and self inflicted would will kill pesky human players

Has Geralf's Masterpiece been working for you? It seems like you don't dump your hand fast enough for it to be a real threat. Also I was wondering is Screeching Skaab still necessary? With no Sidisi, Brood Tyrant there isn't really an incentive to self-mill. I would consider replacing it with Fleshbag Marauder.

AYYYY Cool deck dood. only change i would suggest. ditch the Macabre Waltz and add Corpse Churn. keep milling and bringing back your Diregraf Colossus. the 2 drop 3 mill instant speed and fetch is much more viable than a 2 drop sorcery.

WillyVonka I initially had Macabre Waltz in there so I could return two non recurrable creatures to my hand and potentially trigger Madness. However, Instant speed and self mill is hard to pass up. I'll do some testing and get back to you. Very good suggestion though, thank you!

nateblego That picture is so sad, am gonna cry.

As far as your suggestions, I do think dropping Masterpiece is the best way to go. He hadn't been great for me in testing. I've seen a list with New Sidisi, and that might be what I'll go for. I'm already replacing a couple cards for Fleshbag. You are right in saying Screeching Skaab is less needed. I might drop in in favor of Taigam's Scheming. However, I'm worried about dropping any of my Zombies as that might pose problems of not having enough. Do you think ~27 is enough?

March 30, 2016 7:02 a.m.

nateblego says... #10

I think that 27 is definitely enough zombies. I would say that around 24 is where you want to be, minimum. Also, Taigam's Scheming is rotating.

And yes, it's a sad picture. T.T

nateblego Good guy Nate. Sorry I didn't update it today, I was really tired and completely forgot about it. I'm definitely getting it done this weekend though, that's a promise.

On a side note, are you going to the prerelease for SOI this weekend?

April 1, 2016 9:55 p.m.

i remeber (sniff, sniff) when this was just a little budget deck in sultai colors... playing Gurmag Angler as the fish (cries) they grow up so fast (= u =)

Did you forget about Sidisi, Undead Vizier or did she just not test well?

I want to make a Zombie deck around Liliana and she seems like she'd be amazing even as just a 1x. Flips Lili, tutors something, has a fat body and deathtouch. Only downside is the cost, I guess.

amazingdan says... #20

DroseraC I did try her, but she never really did much. It does have a decent body, but the tutor effect never did a whole lot for me. If I'm casting her, it means I'm already ahead. While it's true that she triggers Lili, it's not that hard to kill a creature in general.

May 18, 2016 4:31 p.m.

DroseraC says... #21

Yeah, that's pretty much what the guy with the zombie deck at the FNMs I go to said. Even in the games he was casting her when she was behind she wasn't fixing anything for him, really.

I really want to try to brew together a more Control centered Zombie Tribal that could probably use her more effectively but I'll probably have to wait until next set to see if that gets any more support.

May 18, 2016 4:50 p.m.

amazingdan says... #22

DroseraC You could do that, with a focus on recursion while removing all your opponents creatures. That might actually work, now that I think about it. Your creatures are always coming back(Risen Executioner, Prized Amalgam, Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip, etc.), all the while you're gaining card advantage and removing/controlling them.

Especially cycling stuff like Fleshbag Marauder with Liliana, it would be easy to keep the board clear. I think the main problem with it would be keeping your hand full. Maybe Epiphany at the Drownyard and Read the Bones?
