You notice how in horror movies involving zombies, there is no build up? The zombies just show up in large masses. In one scene there is Simon Pegg being a British comedian, and the next he is surrounded by zombies. That's what this deck is supposed to do. One turn you see a Rites of Flourishing, Birds of Paradise, and Parallel Lives and the next you see a Grave Titan with four zombie friends. I'm pretty sure Right now Pod is my main deck type, but I think this will be a fun side project for one of my siblings to run. Army of the Damned is another pretty obvious win condition, seeing as the ramp can get me to 8 mana fairly quickly.
Sideboard:Life's Finale: Board wipe that removes
Mirran Crusader
s. I'm playing ramp, so this is definitely playable turn 5.
Skinrender
:
Mirran Crusader
rapes this deck, so I need a way to kill him. This guy does that while providing another zombie body.
Fresh Meat: Kill my 20 zombies? Okay, I'll get 20 beasts instead. I'll double my ranks if Parallel Lives is out. How is that for a dick move?
Creeping Corrosion: One-sided board-wipe against Tempered decks and it ruins Puresteel decks.
Additions:
Garruk Relentless
: The guy is the best utility walker since Jace, the Mind Sculptor. First, he creates blockers, which can double with Parallel Lives. Last I checked, there is a card that creates two 2/2s for four in the current standard. Second, he is creature removal. Puresteel Paladin? No problem, just kill him while his army consists of
Mortarpod
s. Third, he tutors. Drawing nothing but birds? No problem, just sack one and get a Grave Titan. Forth, and finally, he generates an Overrun. That is totally a finale in this deck. Granted, I'll have 20+ zombies on the field if everything goes unanswered.
Maybeboard:
Mimic Vat: Board-Wipe recovery, and with Parallel Lives, the thing is unstoppable. Two Grave Titans, 16 Zombies for 3 mana. Imagine that after a board wipe. It is pretty situational, and I don't know what to pull to make it work.
Solemn Simulacrum: Ramp, blocker, card advantage. He is a godsend when I see a
Mirran Crusader
or a Sword of Feast and Famine.
