"Let those idiot priests tremble! A new era in unlife begins here and now. Oglor, raise the lightning vane!" - Stitcher Geralf

This is a casual deck that features combos to flood the field with your horde of zombies. Created February, 2017. It costs around $70 for the physical cards.

Here are some highlights:

  • Rooftop Storm + Gisa and Geralf : Allowing you to cast a zombie from your graveyard for , once per turn.

  • Undead Alchemist + Dread Summons : Dread Summons will on its own generate tokens, but with Undead Alchemist out you'll get a second token for every creature your opponent moves to the graveyard.

  • Shepherd of Rot : This guy will come in handy when you have a horde of zombies but you might not want to engage in combat damage. Using Shepherd of Rot's activated ability will allow you to still get some damage in, but aware of your own life total.

  • Diregraf Captain : This guy will help your lower health creatures and also give some value to your creatures dying.

  • Gempalm Polluter : What a fantastic zombie. I still have not yet cast this card at it's spell cost. He is a great card for cycling and has a huge amount of synergy with the entire deck, being that he is a zombie and you'll have zombies on the board. Don't overlook this card in your hand late game when you have 8 zombies on the board - that's 8 damage to face for in your hand!

  • Endless Ranks of the Dead : It's expensive. Definitely a later game card. I wouldn't play this on curve, unless you were able to get four zombies in play already.

  • Soulless One : Sometimes he is a 3/3, sometimes a 15/15. "Surrender your soul to me."

  • Early Game : Shoot for two or more basic lands and a one drop. Gravecrawler is a fantastic opener. There are 4x Gempalm Polluter which is basically your insurance if you don't get any good two or three drops, or if you missed a land play for a turn, cycle this and hope to draw your land for the turn. Diregraf Colossus is the three drop of three drops. If you used your one drops to trade, and they're in the graveyard, and you cycled a Gempalm Polluter then your Diregraf Colossus comes in as a 4/4. Metathran Zombie is in here just for insurance if you start Island heavy.

  • Mid Game : Here is where we can start hitting face, and should really pressure. Our zombies in our graveyard still have a LOT of presence, so don't worry about trading them away. Soulless One will be there to remember their grim deeds. Gisa and Geralf can come into play here and potentially bring back a lost Diregraf Colossus, which will get even more counters now that you have more zombies in your graveyard. Consider using Undead Alchemist to further generate tokens, and even mill your opponent, but don't play him if you've got your opponent at check mate with health points! Use Undead Alchemist with caution.

  • Late Game : I hope you have a lot of zombie token cards handy. Endless Ranks of the Dead can be in play here especially if you have a healthy account of zombies on the board from mid game, but play Soulless One if you have it - it should be giant now. Rooftop Storm is expensive but if you have three zombies in your hand then now you can just put them all in, which would generate more tokens from Diregraf Colossus, oh and that Soulless One you have without summoning sickness? Now he's a 20/20. Coat of Arms and grab your calculator. Grimoire of the Dead I haven't yet had the pleasure to fully activate this card but it should be a fun way to win the game.
