Have you given thought to maybe things like Cemetery ReaperMTG Card: Cemetery Reaper and Highborn GhoulMTG Card: Highborn Ghoulin the deck? I versed a BU zombie deck, and was thrashed.

Highborn was in early builds, and may still come back. Cemetery ReaperMTG Card: Cemetery Reaper has also been in and out of the build but mostly sat in hand in favor of captain or Messenger.

Phyrexian Crusader is a Zombie Knight ... I'd at least sideboard a few if you're playing R/W decks.

Nice synergy. +1

Btw I just posted a G/R Beastmaster Ascension/Wolf Run Ramp deck I would appreciate comments on...

Crusader was in sideboard, and at one point a main deck. However I opted for SkinrenderMTG Card: Skinrender main deck instead, and while he does provide some RW protection, most of the time he just sits. Porcelain LegionnaireMTG Card: Porcelain Legionnaire fills that role while not being a zombie and getting around Mirran CrusaderMTG Card: Mirran Crusader.

Ah... MC has double strike and PL has first strike. So do they just kill each other because MC deals first strike, then damage, PL deals first strike, or does double strike go first?

Double is first strike and another hit. So they basically explode at the same time. They each deal first strike damage.

I was referring to the possibility of upping the creature count actually. Zombies are amazingly aggressive.

I figured. Cool.

I actually thought about that with something like adding Birthing PodMTG Card: Birthing Pod, Mikaeus, the UnhallowedMTG Card: Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and some Vault SkirgeMTG Card: Vault Skirge to allow pod to ramp and ramp and ramp.

Nice Deck! +1 for sure, love the Birthing PodMTG Card: Birthing Pod thats such a good idea for zombies! It should be spawning pod though...

If you want this to be competitive, take out Zombie ApocalypseMTG Card: Zombie Apocalypse, Gitaxian ProbeMTG Card: Gitaxian Probe, and the singleton Birthing PodMTG Card: Birthing Pod. Mikaeus, the UnhallowedMTG Card: Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is way too slow, and doesn't see tournament play for a reason. You probably want more Skirsdag High PriestMTG Card: Skirsdag High Priests, and you want at least 23 lands assuming Grimgrin, Corpse-BornMTG Card: Grimgrin, Corpse-Born is your highest cost.

If you have time, let me know what you think about my competitive zombie deck - Zombies got it bad cus' we black

Love the idea; may have to build for FNM+1

Have you found Skirsdag to be effective?Anytime i see him he is the 1st to be Go for the Throat'd? Check out my Zombie deck let me know what ya think?Rick Grimes (Standard Zombies)+1 for Zombies

Surllio says... #19

I find him to be greatly effective. Most of the time I wait to play him till I have other threats on the field. A priest on the field with other things around him makes it harder to pick, and then I can sac and tap. Of course I usually get one demon out before he becomes the focus. He provides an amazing distraction.

I agree that the priest is a very useful card. At best it drops big demons and at worse it forces the opponent to use up one of their removal spells against him. +1 to you sir.

This is my zombie deck: Bouncin' Zombies - The Musical. It's similar in some respects, although it relies more on zombies coming back to life.

This is a pretty good deck(+1). Have you thought about adding Royal Assassins? Not only are they great at stopping attackers, but they can help kill tapped creatures to support your morbid :)

Thanks for the +1 on Why You Mad, Bro?. I also have a zombie deck, but I havent spent a lot of time really focusing on making it amazing, as most of my money goes into my G/W deck. In my Big Bad Zombies, I have Mikaeus, the UnhallowedMTG Card: Mikaeus, the Unhallowed in it because Zombies + Undying = REAL zombies lol.

The only issue I see with Royal AssassinMTG Card: Royal Assassins is that my 3 drops are pretty full. If I have a choice between Diregraf CaptainMTG Card: Diregraf Captain, Geralf's MessengerMTG Card: Geralf's Messenger, and assassin, the other two win out.

I would take out Shimmering GrottoMTG Card: Shimmering Grotto for Cavern of SoulsMTG Card: Cavern of Souls.

Hey, I know that this a pretty old post but I hope you are still active on it. I am a new player and am interested in building a zombie deck. I really like some of the cards in your deck but I do not really understand the strategy behind it. I would be very very appreciative if you would be willing to explain the strategy in some detail for me.

Thank you for your time
