This deck is made to focus on using Scarab God's first ability to kill all your opponents at the same rate and likely at the same time. You do this by playing lots of zombies to keep your opponents creatures out, and then letting Scarab God kill everyone. There are quite a few tutors in here that either put specific creatures into your graveyard so they can be made into token copies for cheap or just normal tutors that can get you important cards like Lilianna of the Dark Realms, Corpse Harvester, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Archfiend of Depravity, Kira, and Great Glass-Spinner.

The rest of the deck are cards with many different themes including just straight up high value zombies, damage doublers, cards that make tons of tokens, a whole lot of zombie lords, lots of cards that give us boons when we get board wiped, cards to make clones of The Scarab God so we can double up his life draining upkeep effect, getting cards out of our hand and into our graveyard where they can be token copied for cheap, and other powerful effects.

When it comes to non creatures though we only run the best of the best, within a certain cost effective (money) range that is. Rooftop Storm, Necroduality, Wound Reflection, Endless Ranks of the Dead, Exsanguinate, and a great set of the best of the Liliana Planeswalkers relevant to this deck.

It's a pretty straight forward deck. Obviously it would be nice to have more ramp in the deck but a lot of it, such as Jet Medallion are expensive, and the rest are just mana rocks that slow the deck down. However there are some advantages, such as Liliana of the Dark Realms, which in my opinion, should always be your first tutor choice, or Rooftop Storm, or just the fact that despite The Scarab God being a 5 drop commander, it never get's anymore expensive, since it never goes back to the command zone. Also in the future I am hoping to get more high value 1 and 2 drop zombies. Although there are many zombies in that cmc range their abilities just don't stand up to the power level set by the cards currently in the deck.

As you will see, this deck is really lacking in removal. That is primarily a reflection of my own play style. I don't like instant, sorcery, and other non repeatable removal. I prefer to be the person that is forcing other people to react, as opposed to being the one doing the reacting. My decks all try to snowball as hard and efficiently as they can. However there are still some bits of removal hidden in there. Royal Assassin for example is a card I think should literally be in every single black commander deck. Even if its just for the commander aggro heavy decks that want to beef up their commander and come kill you. Sure you can't get past artifact based hexproof/shroud, but hey, nothings perfect. The more card slots you dedicate to mana rocks and removal, the more slow you make your own game winning agenda, and the more you lower the value of all your synergistic cards. So that's why my decks are built the way they are.

Like all my decks, I am very proud of this one. Tribal decks have always been by far my greatest love in MTG, and creature heavy ones are the best. The synergy snowballing out of control is just always so awesome to see, and I'm sure it will only get better going into the future. I hope anyone who chooses to go this route enjoys it as much as I do.

Updates Add

So there have been some new releases since my last update, and some good but older cards have dropped in price significantly. So not a lot of changes but there are some really good ones. The non zombie card count continues to drop and more and more iconic zombie cards find their way into the deck.
