Zoo Party *input welcome*

Modern*

Skilgannon

Sideboard

My first Zoo deck! In fact this is the first modern deck I am planning on building. Players in the local area have started playing a lot of Modern and I want to get involved. Pieces are on the way so I have not tested it yet. Simple theory. Early cheap, efficient creatures, make them big, clear a path and win by turn 4/5. Below are my thoughts, but I would love to know what you guys think. Also +1's appreciated :)

Main Deck:

Wild Nacatl: Heart of the deck. If I can get her down turn one, add a rancor turn two then I can be hitting for 7 with trample.

Loam Lion: These offer versatility and work very much in the same way as the Wild Nacatl does just not as hard. Having options in two colours for turn one helps though.

Loxodon Smiter 4/4 for 3 mana. seems strong. Cant be discarded. Seems even stronger. I like this guy. Big beater.

Rancor: Rancor .. enough said. This card it difficult to get around and really ups the hit level.

Voice of Resurgence 3 of these seems right. Not a big hitter like the rest, but the semi protection he allows me is really useful and the tokens can get silly; especially when Brimaz is out.

Boros Charm: Utility card. I loved playing this in Standard so makes sense in Modern. Helps avoid the board wipe or helps smash through the damage at the right time.

Lightning Bolt & Lightning Helix: Burn baby. Clearing a path form my guys is important and the helix helps counter the life lost from the fetches and shock lands.

Atarka's Command has taken Lightning Helix's spot mainboard and is a house n this deck. All options are useful. Quite often find myself dropping a land in my opponents end step with a bolt. *EDIT- [[Dromoka's Command now being tested in it's place

Path to Exile : I am running white. I am running Path.

Ghor-Clan Rampager: If I need to cast him as a creature then fine. But he is there to buff and add trample and generally help me get the damage through asap.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos This guy tops my curve with the smiter's. He can put real pressure on the board and requires a solid removal spell to deal with him. He does side out when I need to be quicker and I bring in more burn.

Sideboard:

Leyline of Sanctity Straight in against burn and some black hand disruption

Destructive Revelry They are better options against artefacts, however despite how fast they can be I am still planning to race them and the damage helps here

Wilt-Leaf Liege My creatures are generally Green or White so this guy can come in when I need bigger creatures

Lightning Bolt,Boros Charm,Path to Exile and Lightning Helix. These can rotate in for specific match ups. Helix comes in against burn and mirror matches for example.

Updates Add

PPTQ time at Cheap Thrills on the Isle of Wight.

Game 1 vs Amulet Bloom: Lost 2-1 but played better than I thought it would.

Game 2 vs 8 Rack: Won 2-0 Dromoka's Command shone here.

Game 3 vs Boggles: Won 2-0 Essentailly a race, but with main deck Drom Comm to respond to an attempted Daybreak Corronet was nice

Game 4 vs Storm: Won 2-0 I like this match up. Felt comfortable here winning the race.

Game 5 vs Grixis Twin: Lost 2-0 I knew this would be a hard match, but both games went to the wire.

Finished 8th and into top 8 on opponents match win

Top 8 Match 1 Vs Merfolk: Lost 2-1. Very close, but in the end Tidebinder Mage blocked me out.
