Why did I make this?

I really like what Sleazebag did with his Mikaeus, Extreme Sub $20 Budget EDH deck, so I decided it would be fun to also attempt to build an "Extreme" budget deck. I wanted to try to open up to more colors since the options open up dramatically, but the issue being is the price goes up when a stable land base for more colors is required. In order to compensate for this, I had to make it around $10 more expensive. Currently on TCGPlayer the cost of the cards alone comes to $21.97 or $17.33 if you use an oversized commander card.

Why Zur?

Zur the Enchanter is known as one of the best 1v1 EDH commanders, but the challenge is making him playable in a multiplayer style EDH game. Fortunately, enchantments that buff zur are cheap in both price and is CMC (With the exception of many enchantments found in more expensive Zur deck lists). The esper colors used in Zur also offer a wide variety of answers for any kind of situation along with the best removal in the game. Lastly, these colors allow the deck to be improved over and over again for different budget ranges.

Strategy

The strategy is similar to most Zur decks found in the wild. Basically there has been included several mana rocks with 2 or less CMC to help get out Zur as fast as possible. Once out, and ready to attack, fetching for enchantments to answer any situation the game state may bring is a simple matter of tapping Zur to attack and putting the answer into play. But first! Lets protect Zur with either Vanishing or Diplomatic Immunity if we currently don't have 2 blue open. From then on out we can attack with Zur, attach an enchantment, and phase him out if we see incoming trouble. Problematic commanders? try Nevermore if not out or Darksteel Mutation if already on the battlefield. Oh your worried they have shroud/hexproof on their commander already? its okay... Zur's ability does not target! Ready to win? Try gradually grabbing Phyresis + Battle Mastery + Empyrial Armor. Oh you say he can't get through? Try Unquestioned Authority. One of the best parts of playing Zur is his ability uses no mana! This leaves you opportunity to react (e.g. Vanishing to protect Zur through removal), or disrupt lands with Desolation, play other creatures, counters, etc that you have available to control the board.
