Zur at his finest.

Zur the Enchanter is one of the most powerful commanders in the game. 1v1 not many things match up, but when you play with 4 people things change. Once everyone sees you crush your first victim you get assaulted by your remaining opponents. This "tax" deck is my attempt at maintaining a somewhat neutral position on the board before you beef up Zur and can take everyone out. Hopefully by then you've built up enough support to fend off the inevitable 1v3.

Strategy

First you want to get out Zur, so make sure your opening hand has enough lands to get you there. After that, there are a couple different options you can go and they really depend on what other cards you drew in your opening hand. Also, take at look at the other commanders to get an idea of how your opponents can disrupt your plans. It will help you decide the order in which you grab the enchantments. I'll separate the enchantments by tiers to give you an idea of their value. Obviously, try and get out everything in tier 1 before moving to the next.

Tier 1 - Protect Zur

Shielded by Faith | Diplomatic Immunity | Vanishing (While very important, you should get a few of your tier 2 enchantments down to slow your opponent before throwing out Vanishing. I usually grab this when my opponents start to hate me and they have enough mana for board-wipes.)

Tier 2 - Slow Down Opponents

Mana Breach | Overburden | Arcane Laboratory | Aura of Silence | Island Sanctuary | Suppression Field

Tier 3 - Support

AEther Barrier | Blind Obedience | Copy Enchantment | Rhystic Study

Tier 4 - Utility (various answers for various problems)

Banishing Light | Journey to Nowhere | Mana Chains | Oblivion Ring | Prison Term | Seal of Cleansing | Soul Tithe

Tier 5 - Pump (time to go for the kill!)

Daybreak Coronet | Ethereal Armor | Battle Mastery | Steel of the Godhead | Asha's Favor | Aqueous Form

Notes

There are a bunch of other random stuff in the deck. One nice thing to keep an eye out for is Illusionist's Bracers. If you get that in an opening hand make sure to equip it to Zur before you give him shroud. Another nice combo is giving a creature with indestructible Pariah. Whether it be your Thassa, God of the Sea or one of your opponents creatures, it helps slow down the damage you take.
