Even though this is a W/B/U deck it plays almost like a mono colored deck. Most of the creatures and spells can be played with just white. Only
Esper Stormblade
and Zur the Enchanter need the extra mana.
This is not meant to be a competitive deck so I'm not all that concerned with putting a bunch of $10+ cards into it. Most of the $5+ cards I already have.
The key to the deck is not Zur the Enchanter... most people see Zur in the deck and immediately go to control, constellation, etc. Zur is in this deck because he can pull out that final enchantment in turn 5 that you need to finish off an opponent.
This is an aggro/tempo deck when making suggestions please keep this in mind! I already have a Zur constellation/control deck and I am trying something 'out of the box'. Please keep suggestions within this theme. :D
For now I am not going to do a complete breakdown because the deck is still very much a WIP. The basic principals of the deck are:
1) Play cheap B/W, W/U, or B/W/U cards that are almost as easy to play as monos.
2) Utilize hybrid color synergy with Edge of Divinity and Steel of the Godhead
3) Work in just enough creature removal to keep the board clear enough to smack em' down.
Things the deck is hurting for atm:
1) Cards (that are cmc 2 or less) to draw Steel of the Godhead and Edge of Divinity that are white or hybrid white.
T4 Win Scenario:
T1 - Plains Judge's Familiar
T2 - Nightsky Mimic + Swamp Hit face for 1 damage
T3 - Island/Polluted Delta/Flooded Strand + Edge of the Divinity +
Esper Stormblade
Hit face for 8 damage
T4 - Land + Edge of the Divinity or any W/B spell + Steel of the Godhead hit face for 16-19 dmg
25-28 damage in 4 turns... so even without an ideal scenario it's not unrealistic to be hitting 25-40 dmg in 5-6 turns and healing for that much at the same time.
