This deck started as a Mardu Goblins deck that we made with a friend. 3 colors are too much for goblins, I wouldn't recommend it. After splitting the cards he turned his half into Rakdos Goblins while I kept the Mardu cards. Bit later I made this deck and one day I found one copy of Zurgo in an LGS so I bought him and he became the creature that holds this deck together. I can tutor him with Brainspoil. I can tutor another creature if he's already out. In 2024 I changed the one boardwipe in the deck to one that I can also tutor and added a few new cards.

I like that Zurgo gets a +1/+1 counter even with noncombat damage, so the deck has two copies of Go for Blood, which can be cycled if needed. Flayer Husk is probably the best one-drop this deck can have since it's colorless, it gives you a blocker in the early game and it sticks around. To the Warrior sub-theme I found one card that can provide a bit of synergy if equipped to the right creature: Relic Axe.

This color combination is probably the worst when it comes to mana fixing, so it's hard to get started if I don't have at least 3 lands. I tried to have as much mana fixing as possible and there are cards with cycling, and the three Cluestones which can be used to ramp and can be cracked later.

Once it manages to set off, it becomes hard to stop. It has small tokens and big creatures with useful abilities. It's a simple mechanic that is fun to play if there's enough mana.
