Thassa, God of the Sea is nice for it's scrying and its an indestructible 5/5 for 3 mana! and because its an enchantment creature zur's ability can call this lovely lady whenever you feel.

sorry for the delay everyone! I've been really busy lately and i've apparently had a few comments "fall through the cracks"... I appreciate the feedback, keep it coming!
@questionallthings: Reconnaissance is a great card and all but i simply don't have the room to fit it in and have many other things that would take precedence over an empty spot. i generally rely on counterspells for "combat tricks"
@nbarry223 & cwizard: i think i've changed my mind on Mana Vortex and will try and fit one in when i find one... thanks for the suggestion!
@Kibble_52: Thassa, God of the Sea would normally be really good in this and the scry would be useful to some degree, but between all of the library shuffling and cards that skip my draw step Necropotence /Solitary Confinement i don't think it'll cut it. Also zur will usually be unblockable without thassa present Steel of the Godhead ,Unquestioned Authority and his flying ability. Thanks for the suggestion though, it was pretty solid!

you roll with way less enchantments than i feel like i usually see in a zur deck. where i have creatures and an excess of enchantments, you have counterspells. i admire your patience
Strionic Resonator is something i'm putting in Freeze Tag very soon, and i wish Daybreak Coronet wasn't so expensive! i'm surprised you don't go with Land Tax ; any gnarly green deck will have a thousand lands out in the first few turns
also, what's your favorite thing to Copy Enchantment ?

re/ counterspells: yea i tried to fit in as many low casting cost counterspells as possible for early game zur protection which, combined with all the mana rocks let me get zur out and swinging very quickly sometimes. Basically if i get him out and he lasts until my next turn, i've got a 90% chance that i've already won.
The enchantment count may be a little on the lower side as far as zur decks go because i'm trying to free up as many slots as i can for essential cards. It's black and white... Either it's essential or it's out.
Land Tax : Even if i did have more basics in the deck I fear that the inconsistency of not always being able to get lands out of it and the fact that it just puts them into your hand instead of in play make it too slow/risky for the speed i wish to maintain.
Copy Enchantment is often a "depends on the situation" card. sometimes it's an attack booster like Ethereal Armor , sometimes it's spot removal like Detention Sphere and other times it's super shroud Greater Auramancy or an opponents' enchantment. Fun fact! If Copy Enchantment enters the battlefield as a copy of an aura, it can be attached to any creature without targeting it (bypasses shroud/hexproof). Works the same way as a Clone .

I'd recommend Mana Vortex as a tutorable Armageddon . it's a little slower, but still shuts down most decks.
