+1! Nice to see a non-doomsday Zur deck. Like the combo too, very flavorful with Zur's Weirding!

This is an interesting win-con in a Zur list. As a Zur player who plays the long game, I can appreciate this.

I'll say that you can't kill someone with Magus of the Mirror. A player loses the game as a state based action for being at 0 life, and that would include you before trading of life totals can be resolved, even if it was on the stack. That means that you can lower someone's life down to 1. If Zur can attack that turn, you can kill them with your 1 power commander. :)

Also, a very good card to consider is Solitary Confinement. With a deck that is designed to always have Necropotence out every game, this is a very easy way to slow down people from killing you. It gives you shroud as a nice perk.

Thank you gkilgore98 for the heads up on the magus combo. Didnt realize that. As for the solitary confinement card, I actually had that in this deck at one point and never really got much use out of it. Reason for that is I dont bring Necropotence out till the end. I maximize the tutor combo I mentioned in the scription before I bring out Necro. More or less get the same result with the Rest In Peace combo with energy field and dont have to discard anything. Appreciate the input and giving it a look see.

Thanx for the look see Amyas. Might have to rethink a couple of things after checking out your Zur deck. Gonna have to decline the suggestion of planar collapse. With the tricks I have in my current build I aint to worried bout creatures.

Hello! I love the deck and was looking at building something similar. Would you know of any budget replacements for some of the tutors and artifacts? If it's too much of a bother I don't want to pester!

Aholderv1, glad you like. As far as budget alternatives go for the tutors I would suggest Diabolic Tutor, Diabolic Revelation, Increasing Ambition, Ring of Three Wishes or Planar Bridge. Blue has Long-Term Plans. There is also a black one from the new set but I cant think of the name off hand. These are all fairly cheap but have a high mana cost. Except for the long term plans.

For budget counterspells Ild suggest nothing more than 3 converted mana cost.

And for budget mana rocks any of the signets or talismans. Also Worn Powerstone is good.

Hi, like this deck. Zur was my very first commander and your deck list has given me a few ideas I can use to revive my old deck. Have a suggestion try to combine Jace, Unraveler of Secrets with Eidolon of Rhetoric

I have found Zur a great commander to help protect planeswalkers until they can use their ultimate move.

I love all of those amazing combo's! I recommend Steel of the Godhead to immediately equip to Zur. I am making a similar deck, but I'm going for budget. Currently it has like 130 cads, and I need help pairing down. wold you mind taking a look. Zur the budget in two ways

Xerngos: Glad you like. I think tappedout is having problems. Ive ran into the same problem opening other accordion sections in other primers. Ones I have saved and viewed before.

What's the reason for you to use Leyline of the void instead of rest in peace?

BattousaiYngwie I used to run Rest In Peace but after seeing Glen Elendra and Kithkin Spellduster plus wanting to make use of Tamiyo the Moon Sage I decided to make the switch. I know the Void isn’t zurable but I run enough tutors to get the Void when I need it.

Cant you bring out the Copy Enchantment Early to Copy the Greater Auramancy and they will protect each other?

tralmix: Glad you liked. This deck is one of the reasons I got back into the game. To see if I could build a viable version of my vintage deck I had built over 20 yrs ago. As for the primer, that was something that took me a lot of trial and error over a few months all done on my phone lol.

Why use Leyline of the Void When you could use Rest in Peace? Yes, the leyline can start on the battlefield, but you can fetch for rest in peace with zur.

KumaLKS: I used to run rip but I wanted to make use of my gy. The void I can get pretty much when I need to with all the tutors I have in the deck.

Ohh, I didn't realize Leyline only exiled you're oponnents graveyards... That makes sense now
