Anyone here into music production?

Yo, so I just downloaded Reaper like a month ago, and I'm trying to learn how to program cool music from scratch in DAWs (not really trying to buy any professional programs at this point. xD). Anyways, I'm the definition of a noob to this stuff. I was able to learn how to make midi tracks and program voices onto them in the FX, but I can't seem to find any fresh-start kind of guides to music production.
I want to be able to make cool EDM and Dubstep synths/music (which is odd, since I don't really listen to those styles), but I don't have anything other than the fresh download of Reaper and very limited knowledge of the program. I also have no Drum samples at all (that I know of, does Reaper have any built in?), and don't know a thing about EQing them properly anyways. Sidechaining is super new to me, but I can at least sidechain a lead synth to a ghost bass drum track to get the synth to pulse -- I was trying to automate the volume before. I feel like I'm getting there, but I just have no good starting place beyond the random knowledge I've accumulated so far. I know about these topics from watching streams and some tutorial stuff that I could find on youtube, but any assistance would be cool. Suffice it to say that I don't like to learn things slowly!

Youtube gets you a long way and googling free vst plugins and toying around with them familiarises you with them. But basically reaper is just a host for you to run signals through a variety of different plugins for variety of different reasons. I bet there are some instructional videos on how to set them up.
If you're playing your stuff through a keyboard, then Free Piano & String VST Plugins is a place to start.
