Yesterday was Bastille Day in France, which for all us stateside, is a French holiday that is essentially their 4th of July.

During a celebratory fireworks display in Nice, France (pronounced Knee-Chee), a 31 year old Tunisian male drove a commercial truck (with intent) through the crowds of people gathered to watch the fireworks display, at approximately 71kmph (short of 45mph), for nearly a mile.

Over 80 killed and over a hundred more wounded.

He was shot and killed by police on scene, but not before taking the lives of so many.

There are some graphic videos of the aftermath out there, if you want to feel the gravity of the event, but they are not easy to view.

Very shortly after this took place, a fire was started at the grounds beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It caused no notable structural damage to the monument.

A day of celebration and happiness for the French people was very shortly turned into a day of violence, terror, and death.

Please take a moment out of your day to show your love and concern for the victims' loved ones.

To all our French friends here on Tappedout, the safety of you and yours will always be on my mind.

God bless you all. I pray your suffering doesn't have to continue.

well then

fuck

that sucks....

It's times like these that make me appreciate the community we're a part of and the boundaries and differences we set aside to enjoy a common interest.
