So yesterday my gs6 screen went black but the touch screen still works. I did the trick with the power button and the volume down to replicate pulling out the battery. That reset the phone and it worked about 20 minutes. Then the screen went black again. I tried doing several button resets and even let the phone the battery drain 100% to the point it couldn't even turn back on. That did not work. I can get text and answer calls. Does anyone know an easy way to fix it? Does anyone know how much itd cost to fix? I can upgrade to the gs8 but i dont want to if this is an easy enough fix.

TLDR My phone screen is black the touch screen works and i did the button presses and that didnt work

Have you tried looking or asking on a dedicated Galaxy forum as opposed to an MTG Forum that does other stuff?

Have you dropped it recently? Idk exactly about S6s but it could be that your connector pins for the display are loose or not connecting properly whether u dropped it or not. If its just going straight black and not individual pixels dying first its probably that. Sometimes the connection is as easy as disconnecting it and reconnecting it other times it could be a built in issue like in my old LG phone.

EmblemManno i havent dropped it. would it be worth it taking it to a kiosk to get fixed? The screen doesnt turn on at all not even with the reset everything works fine. for the short while i had it i was on facebook and web surfing.

Yeah i mean to me it sounds like its not connecting to the board correctly. If you take it to a shop they will most likely diagnose it for free. If it needs a new connection itll probably just need a whole new lcd display last time i changed one of those myself the display was like 140 so like 200 to fix from a shop but this is all just speculation.

I think LeaPlath's point wasn't so much a suggestion that you can't ask us as it was an observation that you're likelier to get reliable information from specialized sources rather than from a community that has no real relationship to the topic of your question.

I second the idea of going to your local cellular provider shop or gadget shop.
