Eldrazi Titans elsewhere in lore...

This isn't MTG lore, so I'm guessing it fits here best.

Dropped an Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger last night with a Quicksilver Amulet and announced "All hail, Ulayoth!"

Whoops! What a slip of the tongue that hardens back to a video game I used to play. It was called Eternal Dark and it was for the Nontendo GameCube platform.

Anyone else that is familiar with this game has experienced the 3 "gods" or "ancients" depicted in the game: Ulayoth, Xel'lotath, and Chattur'gha. For their particular story I strongly urge you to check out the storyline for the game. I'm not sure these "ancients" exist in other lore outside the game as I have never actually delved into it, but there are seriously strong Elsrazi similarities with these things.

First up we have Xel'lotath: causes paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, and alters reality. Very much like Emrakul.

Second is Ulayoth: while the name is close to Ulamog, I would liken it more to Kozilek in that it is a user of magics, and thus uses magics to distort reality and destroy enemies.

The third, Chattur'gha: is a beast of demolition. Very, very Ulamog-like.

These creatures actually look like the Eldrazi, too. Huge, move through space and realities. Tentacles. Create their own drones to serve their purposes.

Anyone else see this or am I completely mad? Let's note I am not insinuating a connection...just a random sequence of similar traits. I mean...there are 3. They look similar. They possess similar attributes. There is a 4th ancient...Mantorok. Not aligned with the other 3. Ugin maybe? But not really.

The resemblance is rather uncanny. I think you may have something here.

A lot of media of all forms takes influence from H.P. Lovecraft and his stories about ancient deity like aliens and their desire to destroy pretty much everything.

I wouldn't so much say that this game you're referring to took influence from MtG so much as both the game and Magic took influence from the dark world of Mr. Lovecraft.

Well yes, but its interesting to think that maybe because the Eldrazi titans live in the void that maybe they can go bug other worlds outside of MTG's lore. It's just fun theory's. Perhaps I should write a story about that... it could be fun.

The gears in my head are turning too fast to form coherent thoughts...but, imagine:

Eldrazi vs Jedi

Eldrazi vs Gondor

Eldrazi vs The freaking Avengers

I know, so many different ways to do it. I have no idea which one to chose. Although Eldrazi vs Gondor sounds pretty damn cool. Maybe I should do that one.
