My first reaction was "That's mean, I like this game," but two seconds later I realized it was just a joke and brushed it off. But the worst thing to Magic? You could have said Harry Potter.

Anybody elses initial reactions (not hate)?

Not sure why it would be offensive? My God, the things people choose to get annoyed about. It's obviously a joke. Magic is obviously a game.

I'm offended you find this a bit offensive.

It's just another "geek" cliche. Nothing to get worked up about. Family guy dissed mtg players as well in a similar manor

Some people prejudge an idea before being properly introduced to it. Even if they are serious and wished to convey the message that MTG is terrible, being offended is the wrong reaction. Just feel sorry for them for being wrong. :)

I'd actually bet that the writers for ERB currently play or have played MTG at some point and have a positive perspective of the game.
