Filming Unboxings

Hi everyone, When you film an unboxing, what camera do you use? If so, how do you mount it/get it in a position where it can read the cards well? Thanks in advance.

make sure it is an HD camera (it has to be mentioned, even though it is a given).

Set the camera up via any devise to point it downwards to the table (like a large base tripod and small nightstand underneath) from a height of 1 meter above the table. That gives a clear view of the cards and enough vertical space to maneuver well.

Also, work on your mic setup - you want to be heard well, but also be able to hear the rustling of packs. You can even be more novel and record commentary later over a silent video with music in the background.

Try to have something more than the unboxing itself - challenge people to build out of your sealed pool for example if it is a prerelease box.

Tripod on a table, secure your playmat / background firmly to the table and stay within the bounds of that background to make sure your stuff remains in shot, then just read the cards through the viewfinder of your camera.

I use my lumix g3 compact dslr for deck techs and shit. I film in good lighting, make sure exposure meter is correct, then shoot!

This is good for me, because I'm about to start doing unboxing/unpacking videos myself. Thanks!

Yes, buddy guy makes a good point, make sure your lighting is even and fair. Don't rely on just sunlight, and have more than one light source. Two small deck lamps on either side of your subject seem to work best on a budget.

Thanks everyone. Just opened up a Kyogre Tin (Pokemon). Last tin I opened was a Kyogre Tin from 2005-ish. Quit in around 2007. Blast from the past haha.
