If you happen to not be American, I'm curious what sorts of celebrations you may or may not have on this day. IIRC Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving. Anyone else?

Canada had our Thanksgiving in October. Today is just a normal day as far as I remember

Home for the first time in 11 weeks! Plan on going to FNM with buds tomorrow, but tonight is just quality time with the family.

In Canada we don't get this day off for school or work, our Thanksgiving is in October as lemmingllama said. But today is a snow day for me so I'm hanging out at home on tappedout anyways

I'm Canadian, and you are right, Canadians do celebrate Thanksgiving. Except we celebrate it a month earlier (October 13th this year). You Americans have it lucky! You guys have a holiday too (Columbus Day). we don't have any holiday today, its just a regular old Thursday here.

I hate Thanksgiving.
Compulsory family time paired with my least favorite foods? Probably not. I'm doing burgers next year.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Even if you don't or have already celebrated it.
November 27, 2014 12:40 p.m.
Ah so Canadians celebrate it earlier, huh? Interesting. I'll blame my ignorance on the American education system and culture which really doesn't seem to mention what other countries do in their own culture...sigh....
Epochalyptik, how can you not enjoy something as beautiful as mashed potatoes? Family, I get...but....potatoes?

@Spootyone Its also not as big of a deal. Its really just time to see family, not the big event that Americans have. I'd probably say that Halloween is bigger here than Thanksgiving.
@Epochalyptik I can agree. Turkey is meh, and I dislike cranberries and stuffing. I got our family to start having ham and potatoes for Thanksgiving, been much better since then.

I don't like thanksgiving, except for the vacation time. I'm from the US, but I can assure you, back in Sweden (as benjamin_is_nuts said) there is no Thanksgiving, and same thing down in Brazil... :P

Man your families must suck if you all hate Thanksgiving so much.
Shit, what are your Christmases like?

Thanksgiving is good with me. I just love food so much. Tyrkey, deer, beer, my kind of morning

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Ohgawd, a day of doing nothing but being swamped by relatives and asking how I've been... I knew going off to a college 10 hours away was a bad idea...

Thanksgiving is kinda nice, I guess. Although watch, in 10 years it'll just be the "Pre Black-Friday meal."
November 27, 2014 5:36 p.m.
Haha GoldGhost012, I can understand your situation. Except I go to University only an hour away and I have family here!
"Have you met a nice girl yet?"
"How are your classes?"
"Have you been making friends?

Is everyone going to ignore the pure gold that is Spootyone's comment?

Foods good. Everyone in my neighbourhood had a little gathering together. It didn't feel like a thanksgiving, though. One of the perks of living in Indonesia. It sorta feels weird for it to be like summer on thanksgiving, especially since back in Colorado it would snow on Halloween.

Just a normal day here in Sweden if I haven't missed anything.
