For any Hunter x Hunter fans on this website, like myself, it is time to rejoice. Togashi has announced that he will be making another chapter of the Hunter x Hunter manga. Whether or not this is him coming out of hiatus or not, we will see, but its still good to see another chapter, as we haven't seen one since 2014.

The series deserves a conclusion.

I'll be perfectly honest. Unfinished or not, new chapters or not, I rate Hunter X Hunter as one of my all time favorite manga.

New chapters are cool, but I don't really feel any hype for them. If we could be sure the arc would be completed within the decade, or ever, I would feel differently.

I love the Manga big time. I am not a fan of the Anime but that Manga was one of the best. It just had something that a lot of other shounen adventure type manga lacked. It really felt like an adventure.

Out of curiosity, what was it about the anime that you didn't like?

This is going to sound wierd but the ANime just felt too childish. Granted I read the manga when I was 17 vs tried watching the Anime for the first time when I was 24.

Also I though visualy the Manga was just much more appealing. The anime lost some of the sharpness and freshness that the Manga had.

I think part of that might be due to the anime trying to emulate the look of the manga. Not to disparage Togashi or anything, but his art is rather coarse and simplistic. Then there's the fact that the source material looks rather dated by today's standards. Add all that together and you'll end up with a look that doesn't quite mesh well with today's shonen anime. I don't thin that's a bad thing at all though.

Granted, I've only had minor exposure to the manga and I experienced both around age 24.
