In Need of a Video Maker and Youtube Advice

I've been thinking of making Youtube videos as a way to make money. I'll have several topics, but Magic/EDH and Creative Writing will my main foci. My problem is that I don't know the notorious workings of the copyright laws (I know only the very basics), and I'm not experienced with making videos in general.
A much bigger problem, though, is that I'm in need of a video maker that can allow me to make videos in the first place.
What video maker do you guys recommend? Any advice on making videos for Youtube as a whole? Thanks in advance.
An idea isn't a concern, as I have plans, but there are a few things I need help with:
How I go about making videos using images.
Avoiding copyright issues
What video maker is good for the job.

This depends on your video style. Popular ones are the old TheManaSource style (images to top right), or MTGLION style (across the whole screen). However, it really depends on your content, if you or your voice will be in the videos, etc.
Don't copy anything verbatim, period.
No clue, but I heard that Windows Movie Maker is awesome.
