So after hearing someone pronounce this cards name with a Y sound a few days ago, I decided to look it up as I (and everyone I know) have always pronounced the name of the card with a J sound.

Apparently it's an Icelandic term, literally meaning "Glacial Run", originally referring to subglacial flash floods from Vatnajokull, Iceland, and now refers to any large release of water from sub-glaciers. And yes, it is actually a Y sound. So, Yo kul hops.

If you're reasonably astute, you can identify that its roots are from somewhere in Northern Europe, which should in turn indicate pronunciation.

Icelandic is a hell of a language, though.

You and 'everyone you know' need to step it up, clearly.
