Heres the early trailer for those who missed it. I have such high hopes for this, I will be crushed if it's stupid. It looks interesting, but it's a lot more outside the box than I was expecting. Defiantly does kind of bring about that nostalgic feeling from the first one in the pit of my stomach, which is a very good thing. Also a big fan of Chris Pratt as an actor ever since Guardians of the Galaxy so again, high hopes.

Right? I was concerned about that myself. Way off course. The whole draw of jurrasic park was that it was scary things that really did exist at one point, in situation with humans. Making a fake one means it doesnt have that appeal.
But the plot basically is that the park has gotten stale after being open for like 10 years so they try to make new dinosaurs to attract more people to come to the park. Apparently they just get a little carried away.
Plus it would seem at the end of this video that Chris Pratt has joined a pack of Genetically modified Velociraptors in some hunt, because they run by him as if he is with them as a friend in pursuit of ... SOMETHING ELSE... which is really kind of totally badass. The only way that gets better is if he rides one.

Even if it ends up not being good, you can go just for the music!

CapnMooMoo exactly. Gives me the chills still. I mean I'm sure it will be entertaining no matter what, but I really don't want them to make some cheesy mockery of a classic.

Man, the first thought I had when I saw Jurassic Park for the first time was: "I wish this was Aliens, but with Dinosaurs."
seriously though, it looks kinda neat. I'm glad that they didn't show you what the superbeast looks like in the trailer. Woulda ruined it for me.

Jurassic Park is my favorite movie, and from the trailer it looks like they're trying to take the premise and modernize it. Having read the book, the theme is that we can't control nature and that using technology to bring things back from the dead doesn't always go the way you want. This takes the premise and (apparently) moves it to become more about genetic modification and make a statement concerning genetic modification of animals (and maybe humans).
Although I want to know what they genetically modified. Is it a T-rex? Did they fuse it with a Velociraptor? I HAVE QUESTIONS UNIVERSAL!

slovakattack Aliens, but with Dinosaurs is a game called Dino Crisis. Also the best Jurassic Park video game that has nothing to do with Jurassic Park.

i've been waiting for this for years. Also, the star wars trailer will be released this firday

I saw the star wars trailer today. One of them at least. It looks great.
Fun fact: velociraptors are NOTHING like how they're portrayed in Jurassic Park.
Another fun fact: most of the dinosaurs portrayed in the film didn't exist in the Jurassic period.

My fun fact for the day:
There is more and more evidence being found that supports the idea that Velociraptor had rudimentary/ primative FEATHERS like birds, which also supports the theory that some dinosaur did survive the mass extinction and evolved into the birds we know today.

ChiefBell and Kcin. Your both right the raptors in the movie are nothing like Velociraptors, but the thing is they are almost identical to something called a Utah Raptor, which was about 6 feet tall and regularly badass like the movie. Velocirapters are like 3 to 4 feet tall and basically like little bird things that ate rodents mostly. The thing is most people recognize the name Velociraptor, and it sounds way more badass.

And as a side not... just for the nostalgia thing...

Though on a related note, Deinonychus is my favorite dinosaur... 11 feet long (tip of nose to tip of tail), about 5-6 ft high ( based on a 2.5ft hip height)... with a large 6" claw on the second toe of the foot. The tail made up most of the body length, and while rigid enough to act as a counterbalance while running, was supple enough to move laterally with a fairly large range of motion unlike that of most theropods and other "Raptors", suggesting it could be used like a rudder when making turns during flight (escape) or chasing down fast moving prey.

Kcin in the books a T Rex swims in a river like a crocodile, using its tail and shit. idk if thats legit or not but makes some sense.

I did say "most theropods" there are exceptions. I am by no means an expert either... though I have been researching and reading about dinosaurs since I was a kid (not like regular kids, but actually readin scientific journals and other Professional things, and I was able to understand them)..... I almost went to Earlham College for Paleiontology/ Geoscience but then 9/11 hit and I went into the military instead... if I had the time, I would go to school for this subject in a heartbeat.

That being said, like I mentioned I am no expert.... just someone really passionate about Dinosaurs and the science they bring to the table.

yea i was like that as a kid too actually. At 6 I was like yea mom Im gonna be a paleontologist. mostly because of this friggin movie. funnily enough im in the military now too.

Fun fact #2:
When the Iguanadon was discovered, the team of paleontologists that found it, believed that the now famous Thumb spike was actually a horn and tried to assemble the skeleton with the thumb attached to the nose..... after assembling the hands they noticed that the shape of hand had a space for what appeared to be a thumb, and thinking on it they moved the horns from the nose to the hands and found that the horns were actually modified thumb bones, thought to have been used for defense, or for cutting reeds for food.
