Seems like a potential soul sisters finisher. Not really sure though.
March 5, 2015 1:16 p.m.
its a 4 drop that does nothing on its own, but is quite powerful with other interactions. definitely great for standard, but eternal formats we still have to wait and see

I dunno how it compares to Hero of Bladehold so yeah it's hard to call. Bladehold is probably still just better since it does a lot more for the board.

It looks like they are taking older staples and printing watered down versions.
Command is cryptic, anticipate is impulse, Zurgho is guide, etc.
I'm just waiting for the watered down goyf.

My friend: "lol you already got...its that raptor lol"
March 5, 2015 1:32 p.m.
i wouldnt call tasigur a better goyf per say. that 4 mana ability is very hard to activate in eternal. standard is slow as shit so yes you can utilize it, but i think banana boy is your new goyf (watered down)
March 5, 2015 1:36 p.m.
Not really watered down though. He doesn't depend on the graveyard to get large, he's actually harder to remove, and can be cheaper to cast. In some ways he's better.
March 5, 2015 1:46 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #13
He's cheaper to cast, doesn't die to grave hate and has an ability.
March 5, 2015 1:48 p.m.
i guess so. then there is your new goyf. i have 3 available for trade if anybody needs them! :)

Damnit! I want to preorder Thunderbreak Regent while he's only 4.50 for my modern deck (seems really good alongside Hero of bladehold to me) and SCG is sold out...do you have to a premium member or something to preorder there? TCg has it between 7.50-10 bucks right now which i'd like to avoid paying if I can
Halp?

I finf that if I preorder stuff I always pull more, Preordered Some Polks and then pulled 4.
Id do it, It's a fairly good price and $16 isn't too bad of an investment.
March 5, 2015 4:36 p.m.
Atarka's Command looks pretty sweet for just two mana. I like the design of it a lot.

Value Dragon is hype. The only way he'd be any more insane would be with haste
March 5, 2015 6:58 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #22
I just don't get the people who think it's bad.
is already a splash in most burn decks for Destructive Revelry in the sideboard. This is a Skullcrack with options. What's not to like?

quesobueno123 says... #24
Command is going to be one of the best cards in the deck. Period. This is coming from someone who has played burn pretty much the entire time that I have played magic.
March 5, 2015 7:01 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #25
kyuuri117 Because Skullcrack is a 2-4 of in almost every modern deck now?
March 5, 2015 7:02 p.m.
I just really like the card. It's really good, but it doesn't make a deck and it's not obscenely imbalanced. Simply, it's balanced. Seems like R&D is doing a good job with this set.
March 5, 2015 7:02 p.m.
Oh, I know it's a staple in burn. I am of the opinion that burn doesn't need upgrades.
March 5, 2015 7:05 p.m.
Until burn wins every match it plays, it can be upgraded.
March 5, 2015 7:06 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #33
Ahhhh, I see, you mean playing against it kyuuri117. Gotcha.
March 5, 2015 7:08 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #34
So, Azo control staples in standard aside from narset and command.
Annnnnnnd GO!
March 5, 2015 7:08 p.m.
There's a white board wipe and a few removal spells. Disdainful stroke?
March 5, 2015 7:10 p.m.
ItchiUchiha117 says... #36
Anticipate seems like it's gonna be pretty good. Scry 3, draw one at instant for ? Yeah, seems fun.
March 5, 2015 7:12 p.m.
ItchiUchiha117 says... #39
Fair, but it's still pretty good dig and can be doe EoT if you don't need to answer anything.
March 5, 2015 7:19 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #40
So, what is the stupidest rules interaction you have ever found/heard of?
March 5, 2015 7:23 p.m.
Ohthenoises: Stupid good or stupid bad?
Because stupid good would have to be putting Runic Repetition on Eye of the Storm to pull other flashback spells off Eye of the Storm (e.g. Geistflame) only to keep recasting them using Rite of Flame also on said eye. That deck also put Cunning Wish on eye to get over 200 cards from a pile of instant into the 60 card deck to trigger Battle of Wits.
March 5, 2015 7:28 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #42
Not really a rules interaction. That's more of a combo.
I was referring to the manipulation of the rules.
Like using Skullcrack to Pyroclasm a Kor Firewalker.
March 5, 2015 7:30 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #45
VampireArmy Not as much as you think lol.
The rules explicitly state that damage dealt is "prevented" from sources of the chosen quality.
Skullcrack says that damage can't be prevented this turn.
You target the player with Skullcrack, then play Pyroclasm. Since damage can't be prevented and Kor Firewalker isn't being "targeted" the damage will be marked and cannot be prevented.
March 5, 2015 7:34 p.m.
I always thought it was weird you could respond to etb effects with other abilities so that you had a creature that entered the battlefield like aaaaages ago but since then you've done a ton of stuff but not let it do it's own thing. Referring specifinally to Reveillark, Karmic Guide, Blasting Station interactions where I forget exactly what you have to do but it's like sacing reveillark in response to karmics trigger.
March 5, 2015 7:34 p.m.
Femme_Fatale says... #47
Preventing the ability to prevent damage gets around protection VampireArmy.
March 5, 2015 7:35 p.m.
I imagine the creature sitting around like waiting to do its thing.
March 5, 2015 7:35 p.m.
Karmic guide being like 'k cool, are you guys done over there?'
And reveillark interrupts her like 'Imma let you finish but my ltb trigger is the greatest reanimate trigger of all time'
VampireArmy says... #1
how could it be better?
