Excuse me, I think you just spouted some bullshit on your face. Lemme get one of my dragons to clean it off for you.

So play bant control ur bug control. Everybody loves combo control decks after all.
Either that or go full man mode and build a blueless control deck.

GoldGhost012 the internet is shielding you from scathing sarcasm and dry wit. Text cannot express tones properly.
enpc my original comment was less complaining more "well this is absurd". Might go Bant... maybe. But I think the Online people just hate Blue. Or maybe I'll go Jeskai with Narset. Yes, clearly I am growing less tolerant of people. But gotta get the monies first.

Blueless control? I don't understand why you would do that. That's like saying you're going to buy sugar-free Oreos.

As for delve in Commander, it's usually meh. Some cards are good, some aren't. And the viability of the mechanic itself is directly tied to your deck and how it uses its graveyard.
March 15, 2015 7:50 p.m.
I figured that was probably the case. Most people don't like to just rebuilda deck because it turns one or two people's noses up :P
Narset is a bit of an autopilot deck, I was considering building one but now that I've played against them they seem as boring to play as to play against. Basically, ramp ramp rmap, get narset down, swing, armageddon, lather rinse repwat.

CanadianShinobi says... #10
Oh, well then that won't do. At least Grand Arbiter requires me to think.
March 15, 2015 7:54 p.m.
Epochalyptik: Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. I've seen some really good Gaddock Teeg decks, and my gf's Captain Sisay is seriously brutal.

Treasure Cruise is pretty good in Commander, but not the best. Dig is pretty much the best if you're playing anything that wins with specific things. I can see how Tasigur would be good. Anyone know about Logic Knot or Temporal Trespass viability?
March 15, 2015 7:55 p.m.
Epochalyptik says... #13
That's sort of an issue with narrow-focus decks. I guess you could mitigate that issue somewhat by including alternative win conditions or by adding combos that don't require Narset, but at that point you really don't need Narset anymore.
I'm not really a fan of general-oriented builds, though, so take that at face value. I'm much happier playing a deck full of combos and going for whichever is the most viable at the time.

Also, just build Nath of the Gilt-Leaf for blueless control.
And claimed for the Irish.
March 15, 2015 7:56 p.m.
CanadianShinobi says... #15
No, Epoch is right, what is control without Blue? You might as well cut your arm off.
March 15, 2015 7:57 p.m.
Epochalyptik says... #17
Logic Knot is unimpressive. There are much better counterspells in the format.
Temporal Trespass is playable if you constantly find yourself with a yard full of things you aren't going to use, but it's not the most viable Walk in all situations.
March 15, 2015 7:58 p.m.
I like Treasure Cruise - I've seen it run a few times in storm decks as just more value. But I think I do prefer Dig.
ItchiUchiha117: that or Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed...

I mean, I know blueless is a thing and it sometimes works really well, but I don't see the appeal unless you really just want to build around a certain general or don't want to bother with blue's money cards.
March 15, 2015 7:59 p.m.
And I say all of this running a Damia, Sage of Stone deck. So I know how good blue is. I just find that always being the permissive player can feel like headbutting a wall repeatedly. Its not always bad, but sometimes...

Epochalyptik, might I inquire you to take a look at my competitive Alesha combo build?

I'm not particularly good with Commander. The multiplayer dynamic is fun, but sometimes annoying. I'll give it a shot with a better deck when I get some cash. That or I'll just run to Modern and play that Esper Mentor deck I've been testing on Xmage.
March 15, 2015 8:09 p.m.
Commander is a totally different beast to 60 card. When I started playing, I built my decks like "modern" (although it didn't exist at the time) decks. And they just flopped. It took me quite a while to get the mindset downpat. But once you can do that, it makes deckbuild so much easier. Which in turn makes playing so much more enjoyable.
March 15, 2015 8:19 p.m.
I still cant comprehend EDH construction..
that and 1 ofs in large numbers drive me crazy for some reason no idea why..
March 15, 2015 8:28 p.m.
Femme_Fatale says... #26
I agree with enpc on this one. You just have to get "the feel" for EDH. The best way to do it is by playing. Once you just get that feel, you can deck build and play with ease.
Here's my deck link if anyone wants to take a look at it.

I'd agree with using Xiahou Dun, if it came with its own built in win con like Nath does. Of course, yes, I do prefer control with blue in it. But that can get incredibly boring and predictable after a while.

I don't really do deck feedback anymore. It's time consuming and I'm not as in-touch with the meta as I used to be.

Interesting decksirbar :) thanks for the link. It's not often you see a wholly new zoo- and that's a pretty crazy build

See, I just don't do deck feedback because I'm tired of people telling me I'm stupid for suggesting things they don't like. And because explaining my reasoning for my suggestions can be a little bit frustrating. I'm words with bad.
March 15, 2015 9:20 p.m.
Whatever whoever is conspiring about, I swear I didnt do it..

Maybe I should feel like I did something wrong.
Tell me if I'm missing something here.

I dont tend to like to feedback either.. either the person already doesnt want to run x card, has x card in deck or as prior stated, wont listen to reason.

When people ask for advice or opinions then argue why they think your wrong despite having no experience or evidence why.
March 15, 2015 9:24 p.m.
Sometimes you have to agree to disagree and just leave it all as is. As admin I understand you don't want to and probably shouldn't, but some people either don't want to accept defeat or be told they're wrong.
March 15, 2015 9:29 p.m.

Epochalyptik: Its hard being a mod, you will always have users just waiting for you to slip up. Or just want to take offense to what yo usay becasue you ARE an important user on the site. But ti think there are a few things at play (and all of this is meant constructively):
A lot of people, ESPECIALLY magic players have really fragile egos and they take anything that anybody says that's not their answer as a person attack/challenge.
You know well that emotion is not translated correctly when its just words, unless the person doing the writing has studied literature for years, and even then... Sometimes people don't mean to be as harsh/rude as they come across.
Some people are just dicks. They answer the only way they know how. unfortunately the answer is just dickish. They don't actually know any better. My advice here is instead of pulling up people on every comment you think could be rude, affirm the person who actually asked the question (unless that person is the one being the dick, then use your judgement).

Speaking of conspiracy, I went to go buy hot dog bread because hot dogs were made but no one bothered to check if there was enough bread for everyone and I somehow got to be the one to go buy it (even though someone else had a car and I didn't so I had to walk...) lucky the store wasn't to far away. Anyways, after getting back my change I noticed something about the back of one of my dollars...
(The right folded corner had something about google: "free mason")
This surprised me more than it should have but I think I am going to keep this dollar just in case... I never before have gotten a dollar that had anything like this before on it so I thought I would share (and no those crayons don't belong to me). :3

So speaking of deck help, trying to explain to someone why they need to tighten up their sideboard and then explaining why and how the sideboard would work and then having them argue with you... is infuriating.

Normally, I just see the Grand Arbiter player get hated on by the other 3-4 players. Theres this kind of unofficial truce that seems to always form.
