Side note: why is Sacred Foundry worth more than Overgrown Tomb? Last time I checked, Tomb was one of the most popular shocks in modern.

Wow lol.. My crowning achievement is 24 khans fetches +2 zend. The only one from khans I dont have a set of is strand. Around 10 shocks- most of my decks just run 2 of each that I'd need.

...And meanwhile I don't buy MTG cards over the ridiculous price of ten bucks...
Long live basic lands!!!!!

slend a small amount of money every week. I did $30.

80??? What are you going to do with all of them?
March 18, 2015 1:49 p.m.
Sell them? Wait for them to reach maybe $15 to $20. Before the reprint they hovered between $30 up to occasionally $40. I might have to hold onto the for like 3 or 4 years but one day my time will come. And if not? I'll just trade them away for other things. I treat them Like stocks that'll never go down but may go up.

Investing in shocks when they were ten dollars was a great idea.
I have 1 Foiled Fountain and 1 Foiled Sacred Foundry.

Find a fringe combo deck. Add some cards that make it better.
I'm all about the combos. It can even be a control-combo.
Wink, wink

Are we talking Modern? You should make a Merfolk deck :p
March 18, 2015 6:30 p.m.
Merfolk wouldn't work. They're heavily outclassed by Affinity.

Never sell your last deck. Sell every single other card but never your last deck. Sure right now you fave interest but we've all heard the story of the guy who quit and started back up Again years later. Give yourself one thing to pick up and play Someday

ThisIsBullshit says... #36
Yeah that's true. You never know, and I get emotionally attached to some of my decks so getting rid of the last one would be extremely difficult.
If you don't play, sell off the rest of your collection and keep the last deck.

bigguy99 It's going to sound really weird, but try playing the new Descent of the Dragons + Dragon Tempest combo, maybe in a Temur shell. It won't be anywhere near top tier obviously, but it could be fun. Sort of like Scapeshift.

I don't foresee myself ever picking the hobby back up, to be honest. I don't think I'll ever really have more free time than I do now, and I would be better off investing that time in reading and writing.
Plus, the deck is worth $4600. I'm not exactly strapped for cash, but that's a nice investment to be able to reclaim.
March 18, 2015 7:53 p.m.
If you don't need the money, then I'd say hold onto the deck. Not to mention I'm sure the price ofthose ABURs will slowly climb more than they are atm.
March 18, 2015 8:01 p.m.
It's a nice amount of money but it could be more. Maybe cash in the parts that won't rise too much and keep the investment staples?
It's your life, man. If you have no time for magic then you have no time for magic.

VampireArmy says... #41
Treat it like a get out of jail free card then. If you're ever desperate for money you have that to sell. Selling it now won't do you Much good but it could very well cause regret
March 18, 2015 8:11 p.m.
Epoch: I didn't see myself ever picking it back up either after starting a family. Now that my kids are older and started playing a couple yrs ago, I picked it back up so I could play with them. I've been kicking myself in the ass for getting rid of everything ever since I got back into it.
You never know when your circumstances might change. It sucked having to start over from scratch and not even have a deck to play at first.

The thing is, if I have time to devote to Magic, I have time to devote to my actual pursuits. Having a hobby is fine, but there are ongoing things I need to work on when I can. I'm currently in the process of replacing Magic with something that could serve a similar function and be more productive.
March 18, 2015 8:17 p.m.
You mean youre optimising your hobbies? That's kind of cold and mechanical.

I tend to be that kind of person, for better or worse. I mean, I'm perfectly personable, but I have a tendency to min/max everything to the extent possible.

Epochalyptik: Are you just giving up Magic so you can get to diamond in LoL? :P

Epochalyptik, why did you start to play MTG in the first place? Because as life is a circle, that kind of circumstance is bound to happen in the future, may it be two months or twenty years. And if you sell your deck now, you will be, and I quote ljs54321, "kicking [yourself] in the ass for getting rid of everything." I myself started MTG during Zendikar and quit right after New Phyrexia because I got uninterested. And yet here I am, years later, discussing modern with people on this very site. Because life is the sun that comes and goes, and nothing will change that. No one in the world can guarantee you that you will come back to MTG playing later in life, but I've got a hunch that it will, for the simple reason that we are having this conversation. If you were sure of what to do, I would not be typing this. That not being the case, you are obviously hesitant and still have some attachment to that deck.
So feel free to sell your last deck or keep it or burn it or do whatever the hell you want. Everyone will respect your decision. But there is a reason that everyone on this thread has suggested you keep your deck.
I feel like I should put some big, deep sentence to conclude this, but I really don't have to. Because you alone know what is right, and you will make the right choice.

I think EDH is still growing at a very fast pace. I feel it's staples will only continue to rise over the next year or two.
