fresh start. GO
I enjoyed Borderlands 1 and borderlands 2 but it did suffer a bit from being 'more of the same'. How different are the presequel, and the episodes?
March 20, 2015 7:57 a.m.
Borderlands Presequel is literally more of Borderlands 2 with better designed player characters and a different setting/story. Beyond that, the gameplay is virtually identical- the reason I enjoyed Presequel more was precisely because of the characters and because I couldn't get enough of Borderlands 2 gameplay.
March 20, 2015 8:06 a.m.
Ah right. If Borderlands 2 had a more active modding community then perhaps shelling out for another game could be avoided? I dislike the whole 'reskin the game, change some of the skill trees -> charge $50' mentality. It strikes me as approaching Call of Duty levels of laziness, and I can say that with full conviction because I've played literally every single Call of Duty and been impressed with perhaps 3 of them - ever.

I doubt it, as to the modding. It's a bit more of a change than you're imagining, though, let's be honest, Borderlands the Presequel could have easily passed as an expansion to Borderlands 2. It's about expansion level, actually- new enemies, new environment, new story, new player characters, but same gameplay.

Yeh - which is a shame if you have to pay full price. I mean, you know, I haven't played any of the others. But from your information I seem to be hearing that it's not like 'a full game'.

Well, figured I would make this because Cats are awesome.
For the COC! Playtest

Ohh do I. You have to be thinking,....cults rule. Why can't there be more cults?
March 20, 2015 9:31 a.m.
The Cult of Cthulhu makes all other cults unnecessary.

Cults aren't really a good thing, I mean I wouldn't call Jamestown a good thing

p.s. Dekord your cat dissection post was some pretty dark shit lol. I forgot to mention it after I read the first couple pages.

You're out of luck Zoo because Cthulhu was the first, original and best.
March 20, 2015 10:22 a.m.
I think the COC should be a little more organized, ya know? But other than that, cats are better than squids.
March 20, 2015 10:24 a.m.
Zoo: I make no distinction between "dark" and "funny."
March 20, 2015 10:28 a.m.
Despite superficial resemblance to the squid, the Great Cthulhu is a god. One far more worthy of worship for the annihilation of the human race than cats for their pitiful enslavement of it.

Also, control with Myth Realized as the wincon. Is it at all viable?

And here I was hoping for conversation but I have nothing to say about cults other than I'm sick of everybody trying to convert me so I guess I'll actually have to pay attention in class lol
March 20, 2015 10:52 a.m.
lol. Pffft. You know cults are where its at.
@6tennis absolutely in standard- I plan on testing it in modern. I'm going to switch my UR delver list to patriot and throw a playset in as well as path to exile.

When I got an Xbox my sister bought me Borderlands 1. I loved that game. I was pretty stoked about Borderlands 2 when it came out. I know this is going to sound weird, but this is how it went down for me.
I never spent that kind of money on a game. Buying the addon pack when I bought the game made it cost over 90 dollars. I figured that was fine, I was going to get a game that I have been looking forward to. The game was awesome, I really like it. Then they start charging for stuff. I was so mad that I have not purchased a video game since, and would not buy the pre sequel.
I feel weird saying this, but I don't see myself buying any more video games unless the culture of bleed your customers dry becomes a thing of the past. Buying the game, and the addon pack should get you the whole game. I should not have to pay a dime more. That is a ton of money to drop, and it left a terrible taste in my mouth.

The only console game I have left is minecraft :> (on my 360)
March 20, 2015 11 a.m.
ThisIsBullshit: This is why you need a laptop, you can just screw around playing Quest Magic instead of paying attention.
March 20, 2015 11:08 a.m.
Quest magic seems tedious lol. I've tried playing games against myself just switching seats at my kitchen table. Its not fun. lol.
March 20, 2015 11:25 a.m.
It's not the same feeling when one of the decks is relatively unknown to you, and it is in the context of a story. Also, the alternative is listening to a teacher.

Get learned.
It will let you buy more magic cards in the future when you are an adult. That's right, you will still play this game when you have kids, own a house, all that stuff.
Get learneded.

Also it's hard to be discreet about using a laptop

Well see the class I'm in is an easy a and I don't pay attention half the time so
March 20, 2015 11:39 a.m.
See, but the teachers assume I'm taking notes because I make decent grades in their classes. Laptop for taking notes is perfectly fine here.
Quest Magic is this

Didgeridooda - totally agree. There's a reason why EA is like the most hated company in the US. Although that's kind of petty when you compare them to like.... Shell or Texaco or something.
Zoo - please stop shitposting. There's a line between discussion and shitposting and you're getting near the edge. Epoch has spoken about this before.

I'll just stop fucking posting. I think there needs to be a new definition of shitposting that goes something like "posts from zoo". Considering every god damn page on this thread is full of staked claims random images and every other imaginable definition of shit.

JexInfinite: Makes sense. It's actually probably the best designed game in terms of the skill trees, and for me playstyle customization is of utmost importance. The characters all feel unique, as opposed to generic "throw out a turret" or "go invisible"- which are cool, but not as cool as, say, "put out a bunch of respawning clones".
Still, the gameplay isn't much different than BL2, so if you're tired of Borderlands, I can definitely see why you wouldn't jump on the game.
