Drinking alcohol is not a rational thing to do, but neither is eating unhealthy food or staying up late. I don't want to defend drinking, I dislike it, but it's hardly the only regular irrational activity humans partake in.

Got really high for the midnight prerelease, went 2-2 with BG fatties. Lost 2-1 to BR super aggro because my curve basically started at 3 and 2-1 to UW control. Got 2 packs, and as usual I pulled absolute dick.

As much as I love Izzet and its way of life... Im actually after cards I can turn into store credit online..

Went to DTK avant premiere, tried U/W splashing black but only got bad cards. Lost 3 times, won once 2-0 and made a small 1-1. Duh :<
Got the chance to try Commander, and now I understand why so much of you guys are loving this format. This is goddamn fun!

So I've gone mardu for the last three prereleases (KTK, FRF and DTK) and I haven't gotten mana screwed once but damn if I always do shitty.

That's hard to say. I'm inclined to build competitively because that's just how I play but I'm also inclined to play things that go sideways...which in this format is not so easy to do. I dunno. I feel like Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury has something more to her in commander but since everyone is so hung up on dragon tribal, she isn't getting used to her full capacity. Since i'm an eternal format pleb, I'm not exactly sure what she can really do either haha

Xenagos, God of Revels can be alright, and has some really powerful stuff he can do. That Atarka dragon from fate, and then some tools from the new set. Have you built him before?

Portal basics are cool too. Think I'll pick some up for my deck so I can switch between those, the Zendikar ones, and the Ice Age snow basics. For pimping, of course.

sirbar I have barely made a TL deck, so I don't think I could be too much help, but if you link it I could try.
VA, Yeah, ramps, and giant beaters. I prefer using evasion guys, I have helped 2 friends build them. They are pretty quick, and effective.

Sirbar, I am not a fan of Animar as a TL.
Yasova Dragonclaw seems like it would fit better with the deck you built. That is one that I am looking to build once I get ahold of one.

I'm only using animar as my commander because he is a combo piece. If it was just creatures I would use yasova, unless the are some cool combos with her.

1 : He draws heat to you like a motherfucker.

In tiny leaders Yasovas ability is more relevant than making your creatures cost less because everything is already so cheep. Though Animar can block Geist well.

Va tiny leaders is meant to be 1 v 1 so you will be getting the same heat anyways.

I know it is combo, but TL seems to have an over abundance of high quality removal. 3 card combos just did not strike me as very effective.

I'm really thinking I'm going to have to build a semi-competitive Commander deck if I want to have any fun in the format. I tried jank, and just messing around, but not being able to win is starting to make Magic really boring.

I hate it when decks can't quite win but the game isn't fun coughDeadeye Navigator + Prophet of Kruphix coughcough but making the game difficult for everyone or just straight up not being able to win sucks, I agree.
