Keeping the format stale will only drive players away. No modern masters set is going to correct that. The format needs new life i think ancestral vision would have been the way to go.

We did just get Mentor, Myth Realized, Narset, and a few others. Small rumblings about a new esper control deck coming out.

I'm a frustrated control player. I dunno if things don't change I'm going to have to find a format where I can play what I want. I like jank, but I'd also like to win. Modern isn't really appealing right now because no form of control is remotely viable.

You put it into the "cards that enter the field at start" section of the deck builder.

Yeah, I've seen that Esper Control thing floating around on tappedout, but hasn't it existed before? Sure, it didn't have Narset, Transcendant and all that jazz, but it's been a thing. Had stuff like Utter End, Prognostic Sphinx, yada yada yada. But I think DTK is going to just turn the current meta on its head, and Selesnya Aggro is gonna become the new Abzan Aggro.

I think we'll find most of the three color decks will get left behind as khans gets further behind us

Mardu will become Boros as ut has already lately
Esper is likely to stay though I'm sure azorius will also be around. Might even take over completely as we lose thoughtseize
Temur was never trully competitive jeskai is likely to go away as boros takes over. I dunno. Am i missing anything?

oops, thought we were talking standard. But yeah Vamps, you're probably right. Femur monsters was lightly competitive, but I'd say 
monsters is going to become a thing, as it already has. But now it gets Atarka shenanigans.

Legacy combo elves is a lot of fun to play. Half of your games are comboing out and half are attrition with deathrite shaman and small 1/1 attackers. It's much harder to pilot than it looks though, super complicated deck.

I was watching a casual game of elfball vs mono-red sneak attack. Game one sneak got out magus of the moon t1. Game two elves just rekt him. Game 3 sneak plays chalice of the void for 1 on t1 and the elves player conceded. It was hilarious to watch.

You can beat chalice on one with abrupt decay so conceding is wrong there (and if you know your opponent has sided in chalice, you prob want to mulligan a couple of times to try and get it). That said , some of those decks also run Trinisphere, and usually run wasteland, so actually getting to use the abrupt decay is hard.

Hey, CanadianShinobi, don't lose hope! I'm currently playing an Esper control deck (even if focused on winning with differents kinds of swords), and it's showing some nice results! But yeah, it's not pure control. But, as things are getting started, I might end up playing it at the MKM official series and, who knows, maybe try to be part of the top 32? :D

Just... Meh. There are a lot of creatures that spawns a lot of tokens too, and that would be faster than just relying on other spells.

I don't like that idea. I run purphros in my krenko deck. It works really well. If I had a few more tutor cards it would work much better.

I really need some stuff for EDH. I think I should break some decks up to get some trade stuff. Seeing 20-30 dollars on a foil might of old krosa, is that really it's value? I have one sitting around somewhere.

elpokitolama my hope is pretty much shot at this point. I dunno, there just isn't enough for a pure control deck to exist in Modern. Again, I'm debating on addressing this to the T/O Community at large. We say the meta is healthy, but boring. But is that really true? How can a meta be healthy and stale at the same time? There's a lack of energy to the meta, isn't that a bad thing?
The fact that Wizards isn't willing to take risks is irksome. Just fucking unban something. Unban anything at this point. I would rather them unban Jace than have to deal with this tried and true, cookie cutter bullshit.

100 card singleton isn't commander. Commander banlist is separately run. WOTC do not determine it.
