I definitely can do that brah, I'll scope it out today when i get home actually.
They have Blue, Brown (the one I grabbed) and White I believe.
March 23, 2015 6:35 p.m.
I got my pre-release box today, here is what I pulled:
foil Assault Formation
foil Dance of the Skywise
Blessed Reincarnation this looks awful to me
Hedonist's Trove as does this
Promo Living Lore
Palace Siege could go in blue black control right?
So yea nothing much for my taste.

Yeah I've seen it.
I just don't want to have it be to ridiculous, Already piss the casuals off enough playing Control everywhere.

Im going to a Sealed PPTQ this Sunday, I suck at limited, Especially a format which I haven't touched at all.
March 23, 2015 6:54 p.m.
You are playing mono blue, nothing really fun you can do with it. At least for the other players.
March 23, 2015 6:55 p.m.
I'm bad at sealed by pretty good at draft, like I usually 1-3 sealed and 4-0 draft.
March 23, 2015 6:56 p.m.
bijschjdbcd says... #10
Well I would like to give them turns, Something that the SCG deck could deny.
As for the Blue = No fun I completely disagree, Which is more fun? Playing an incredibly interactive game that is actually mentally challenging or getting killed T4 by some 1 drops.

I never enjoyed limited that much, Whilst the deck building aspect and drafting knowledge is important I hate having an incrediblly consistent deck and then losing to some stupid bomb.
March 23, 2015 7 p.m.
Understandable, I prefer constructed but I tend to not be able to afford the decks I build, I hate standard and few people play modern around me. They are still stuck in the mind set that it is more expensive than standard, but then rotation comes around.
As for blue, I agree I like interactive games, favourite thing to play is a control mirror match or against abzan, but the people who tend to complain aren't those playing force of will they are those packing goblin guide, you know?
March 23, 2015 7:06 p.m.
bijschjdbcd says... #13
Sure thing.
Red players I find hate loosing, I mean everyone does, But they are always the ones who complain about unfair broken decks when you Wrath their board.
March 23, 2015 7:11 p.m.
I actually suck at draft a lot but I'm great at limited when I don't smoke before I make the deck, haha (and even then I usually top 4 out of around 20+ people).

Fire at my school today. They wouldn't let us grab our computers and stuff even after it was put out. Oh well, means I have free time to playtest my league deck and do trade offers.
...and also type up all the FRC stuff, ThisIsBullshit.
So. At the regionals I attended (Richmond, VA), there were two main types of bots: "stackers" and "lifters." The "lifters" had a mechanism to raise one or two (sometimes more) totes/bins to a high level. The "stackers" focused on creating an internal stack of totes four or more high. The stackers were the minority, but the top two seeds going into elimination were each stackers with the ability to create stacks of five to six totes with a bin on top.
Speaking of bins on top, that's where the majority of points came from. The highest scoring matches had multiple stacks of four or more "crowned" or "cherried" with bins.
Coopertition was not arranged and performed often, but when it was, the points were a definite boon to each team. They're also the primary tiebreaker, so try to arrange and perform it.
Litter points were mostly negligible, but if an alliance threw all their non-binned litter, they could rack up a fair amount of points. Not game-changing, but helpful. Practice is key- our litter drive team member actually scored the highest amount of points out of all the litter throwers. Even so, it is still a pool noodle so expect shots to arc outside the arena (hopefully away from the refs and volunteers).
Maneuvering became difficult near the end of the match due to litter and stacks clogging up the scoring platforms, and a few games were lost because stacks were knocked over. I should also note that several robots (mostly lifters) fell over while lifting or depositing a heavy load.
Going into specifics about our team: 540 built a lifter-type robot that could life two, maybe three totes to the fourth level and a bin to the fifth. We ended up the fourth seed out of 64 after qualification, mostly by building small stacks and putting bins on top of other stacks. Our alliance played to our strengths as we selected two stacker teams, one of which was the sixth seed, who could quickly build stacks of four while we placed bins on top of them. We got the high score for the regionals (120 something) and made it to the finals where we lost mostly due to connection issues or something. Even with our robot dead on the field for 45 seconds or so, we were only around 25 points behind.
March 23, 2015 8:12 p.m.
I can usually do that in constructed, though I don't get high, even with a terribly deck as long as I don't cast Thoughtseize at two life.

nighthawk101 that's awesome dude, congratulations.
March 23, 2015 8:34 p.m.
Oh, FRC? Schweet! I used to be on an FLL team, and we made it to States every year. Of course, the year I leave the team, they go to World Festival. So, yeah.
In other news, I'm FINALLY gonna be able to play Magic this week, hopefully. Literally everything I had planned was during FNM, so I haven't had much time. But now, I'll be able to play with DTK cards in Standard, so yay.
March 23, 2015 9:13 p.m.
Well in case anyone here hasn't seen the new EDH rules change, Spell Crumple, Hinder, Chaos Warp, Hallowed Burial, Bant Charm, Brutalizer Exarch, Condemn, and Proteus Staff are all basically worthless in EDH now.
Apparently enough people complained about tuck and bounce that you can send your general to the command zone if it gets tucked, or bounced to your hand. Of course, no one would ever complain about a general getting bounced to their hand, so this must just have been added on to make it seem like they actually know what they are doing. Which they don't.

Dude fuck people.
I may as well debate my cat for how useful it is on this site.
March 23, 2015 9:17 p.m.
nighthawk101 says... #22
I was never happy about my commander (usually Omnath) being tucked, but whenever it happened I understood that it was part of the game.
Not really sure why they felt the pressing need to change it.

ItchiUchiha117 says... #23
So, my response when my generals started getting tucked was to start running sac effects so that I could avoid it. I also started running my own tuck effects to deal with the completely degenerate generals I'd sometimes face (mostly Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon). This change pisses me off, because it just seems like none of the reasons they mentioned were legitimate concerns. Sure, having your general tucked sucks, but it shouldn't lose you the game.
March 23, 2015 9:31 p.m.
I'm interested VampireArmy, how useful do you think your cat is?
March 23, 2015 9:34 p.m.
CanadianShinobi says... #25
Cats are pretty useful. That being said, today is not a good day for anyone it seems. We need some good feels right now. Who shall supply the good feels?
March 23, 2015 9:37 p.m.
Did you notice that along with deckling and and deckspert there is now deckster. Example yeago2.

I feel like VampireArmys Cat would be more intelligent than some of the Plebs on the internet.
March 23, 2015 9:43 p.m.
I mean, if you've never lost to a voltron Eight and a Half tails or Derevi deck, be prepared to start having them pop up. Sure you can mass destroy their artifacts but that really just isn't efficient.

Salty? Nah.
I just have a pet peeve about bad arguments. Even when they come from me
March 23, 2015 9:46 p.m.
kyuuri117: the thing that pisses me off about it is all the people going "Wah - I don't like it when my commander is tucked, so this is good for me" bullshit. If your deck falls over that much, build a better fucking deck.
Its just turned into the RC being "Hey guys, we want commander to be a casual format, so tucking is now banned. But TaN is stil legal as is prophet of kruphix, cyclonic rift, decreee of annihilation and a bunch of other bullshit".
March 23, 2015 9:48 p.m.

It's the worst when people call you the idiot when they constantly fail to put forward logical arguments.
March 23, 2015 9:48 p.m.
VampireArmy says... #36
kyuuri117 I play decks that operate independently from commander. It's only in there for theme and for extra help/win condition if needed.
That said, I've been sculpting a Marath token deck and it's pretty fuckin brutal...can't wait to build it and pimp it
March 23, 2015 9:49 p.m.
Va it wasn't intended to be pointed at you or anyone, just all the commander players that are mad. :) I don't play commander, but I do wonder if this affects tiny leaders, though I wasn't sure tucking was really a thing in tiny leaders.

Tooth and Nail EXTREMELY amazing for anyone in green
March 23, 2015 9:55 p.m.
enpc Yea agreed. Honestly, it's not even single cards. Mass Land Destruction, instant win combo's, and combo's that infinitely stall the board state should have been gotten rid of before tuck. And as much as I fucking hate mass land destruction, I don't believe any of the above should be gotten rid of. It just doesn't make sense to say "we want this format to be more accessable to newbies and casuals so we are gonna keep the most degenerate shit in the format and get rid of a regular game mechanic".
VampireArmySo do I. The commander is just another utility spell that can be used when you run outa gas or in certain situations. I've never built a deck that runs solely off it's commander and it's because those decks are weak. This change just rewards poor deck building in a competitive sense.
March 23, 2015 9:58 p.m.
VampireArmy says... #43
In my deck it's normally
Purphoros, God of the Forge and Avenger of Zendikar.
normally dealing anywhere from 10-10 damage on the spot. Fuck a combo lol :P
March 23, 2015 9:59 p.m.
basically its Tooth and Nail into Palinchron + Rune-Scarred Demon who finds Deadeye Navigator. Congratulations, you now have infinte mana and access to your entire deck. Its broken. I mean, I run it but if the combo was banned I would deal. But instead the RC makes this dumbarse call...

March 23, 2015 9:59 p.m.
Well I just ordered some Meddling Mages. Figure that since it's the only real hard counter to generals now, might as well grab some before they shoot up to $10-15.

I think we could all use this feel good picture right now. Especially with all the bitterness this day has brought.
March 23, 2015 10:07 p.m.
I'm just throwing this out there, but I just noticed that Doomsday isn't banned in tiny leaders. What were they thinking?
