Just face facts. Those who run this game dont have any idea what they are doing. This applies to WOTC and the RC. Both are killing the game

You know guys, I feel like it's important to keep some perspective.
At least neither the RC nor Wizards are Konami.
March 23, 2015 10:38 p.m.
Thanks Canada, really needed that.
Tucking is fine in my book, it shouldn't put you at a ridiculous disadvantage if your general gets tucked. Like for example, if Titania, Protector of Argoth gets tucked, I should still be able to use my Ghost Quarter for profit. Sure, having Titania out would make it better, but it's still good. And that's how every EDH deck should be: everything is good, but your General makes everything better.

I really have no opinion on EDH as an entire format, but I do think no tucking is stupid because it removes viable source of removal and completely destroys Red removal.

Hey guys can we not discuss this here, there's a whole thread in the EDH forum and I'm sick of hearing about the RC's backwards fucked up decisions. I'm just disappointed as fuck. Thanks.

So, for at least the next few months (and hopefully not more), we're going to have to live with this horrendous rule change. I agree, let's not talk about that anymore here. However, let's brainstorm a bit on what can take their place. Meddling Mage is obviously a good choice in a deck running those colors... but it's very easy to get rid of. What do we think can take their place? Because I honestly don't know. Might just have to make an Esper prison deck that combo's out for the win.

CanadianShinobi Thanks for the photo. It was indeed needed.

I'm trying to break Doomsday in tiny leaders efficiently. Its going well. Anyone know of a three drop grixis legend?
March 23, 2015 11:24 p.m.
Hmm interesting, if I run him I have to run Umezawa's Jitte because flavour.
March 23, 2015 11:34 p.m.
Unfortunately it's over $40 and it's actually the only Grixis three drop legend. There is, however, a four drop one that also happens to be from Legends :P

I am currently trying to defend my opinions about Modern's current state. I am currently doing poorly.
March 23, 2015 11:35 p.m.
bigguy99 yeah I would prefer the cheaper one but I can't run anything over three mana so I'm stuck with him if I go grixis. Though I may stay U/B. Time for old sygg daddy.
March 23, 2015 11:37 p.m.
As far as I'm aware Doomsday doesn't even need red unless you're playing Burning Wish. You'd do fine with U/B although you'd be missing Gush, which also defeats the purpose of Fastbond so you don't need to be Sultai either. It makes the win a bit more difficult but certainly not impossible.

With all this EDH hype, so one seems to care about the banings today...
Treasure Cruise got banned in Pauper, isn't that important :(
March 23, 2015 11:45 p.m.
I was thinking to doomsday into brainstorm, lab maniac and windfall plus two other cards that I may need at the time.
March 23, 2015 11:53 p.m.
why is more often than not the expression "Casual" synonomous with "Lazy deckbuilding"? apparently because you have a casual deck, it means that you don't have to run any card draw, removal or ramp as if thats the only thing that seperates casual from competetive....

Because people are stupid. Side note, I am getting really fucking sick of stupid people.
March 24, 2015 12:48 a.m.
The thing that pisses me off the most is that I have worked really hard to get my play group to play properly. Its a casual group, but its no more effeort to just learn the rules and play correctly. And to deckbuild correctly. They're all casual decks but built with good principles. why is this concept so ellusive to so many players?! gah.

Marath is such a fun....yet extremely powerful commander haha
it's fun being able to win so many ways.
Winning Via infect with him is on my bucket list now though aha
March 24, 2015 12:51 a.m.
You aren't going to win a debate on whether or not the format is healthy because it depends on someone's perspective. Also people are stubborn in there ways.

on the subject of casual yet good.
I once knew a dude who had a selesnya aggro deck that even though was literally for funsies (banned cards in it and stuff) it had a set of goyf since he pulled a foil modern masters one and traded it for a set of non foils (and then some)
March 24, 2015 12:54 a.m.
but don't people want to make their decks better?
speaking of (and a side note) what do people think of Jester's Cap in edh?

Actually its kind of sad, one of the LGSs nearby mine was/is running a commadner tournament where instead of having a custom banlist, each player can select 3 cards to be unbanned for just their deck.... Basically because the guy who runs it wants to run Tolarian Academy. So crap.

I'm just going to repost what I posted on the actual "no more tucking" forum.
"Casual players don't run broken instant win combo's that can easily be tutored up and need to be stopped at all costs. Competitive players do. Casual players kinda got caught in the crossfire of Competitive players needing tuck spells to not lose the game. The issue is that now that tuck no longer works on generals, some commanders won't be "just highly competitive" anymore. They are just going to be broken. Which will incentivize the Rules people to just ban them outright. Which will make even more people upset, including the casuals.
So really, they are just shooting themselves in the foot and setting themselves on a downward spiral with this change."
This is either A) going to be reversed within a couple of months once they realize what a bad idea this was... or B) they are going to ban like 3-5 commanders and cause even more outrage. I'm sure we're all hoping for the first outcome... but unfortunately, i'm guessing they are just gonna go for the bans so they don't end up looking like idiots were they to get rid of this new change.
