What do you guys usually listen to when sorting cards, playing a game online @untap.in, or watching Epochalyptik yell at someone for posting in the wrong area?

Please, post your music T/O! Links appreciated!

Since Magic is some kind of meditation and relaxing to me, especially brewing and deck building, I also listen to music that's the same to me. That basically leads back to some mix of rap music. The global mix usually consista of Run the Jewels, Scroobius Pip, The Streets, Wu-Tang Clan, Gang Starr, Danny Brown and some lesser known German rap like Umse, NMZS and Persteasy.

February 25, 2015 4:34 a.m.

jcv13 says... #6

Danny Brown! So underrated IMO. Fort Minor constantly hits my playlist for MtG brewing in that genre.

It's good to see Magic and music as a form of solitude and thought provocation.

Jethro Tull, Manfred Man, Genesis, Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Sort Sol and Pink Floyd are my favorite bands! Perfect to listen to when playing on Cockatrice!

jcv13, Fort Minor is a classic. I somehow don't spin it with MtG, but it's an all time favourite in my snowboarding playlists. Man, do I want to go boarding right now... :D

I usually throw on my Metallica station on Pandora. So a good bit of Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Tool, Disturbed, some Rob Zombie, and other random stuff. I'm honestly not even a huge fan of Rob Zombie (I wouldn't buy his music), but I never feel compelled to "dislike" it.

When I'm feeling weird, I'll put on my Faunts station. Basically just out-there, chill music

Aefinn says... #17

Mostly metal music. Modern melodic deathmetal, Gothenburg, Thrash, Grindcore, Progressive... Best ones comes from nordic countries, that's for sure but there are some good one all over the world.

Opeth, Mokoma, Soilwork, Leander, Destrage, In Flames and Diablo to name a few. If I want to go with oldies, I'll go with Pantera. Imho Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and especially AC/DC are way too overrated bands. They sure had their go in 80's but that music should have stayed in the 80's.

On the other hand, I try not to exlude other musical genres either. I like Pendulum, Aero Chord and Knife Party for example. One of the best songs ever is Mad world by Gary Jules. Also, Tank! by Seatbelts (That JexInfinite mentioned with his Cowboy Bebop [one the best animes ever btw]) is hella good!

What I listen depends highly on other things too. If I'm by myself, then most likely metal but when playing with friends I listen to suggestions.

22 is anything, but not old, dude :DI was that Death Metal guy, but man, that stuff grew old.Regarding overrated bands, I'm all in with the rating of Metallica, AC/DC and Megadeth. These bands are boring and bad. Iron Maiden, however, is not. They are bonkers. I haven't listened to them in forever and I most likely won't ever again, but they are a great band.

February 25, 2015 7 a.m.

Aefinn says... #31

Oakenwind, well. I have listened death metal now for about 15+ years. Bands come and go of course. The genre itself has evolved quite a lot in that time too. I too, have grown a bi out of regular Death metal. Subgenres and variaty ftw!

For me it was the other way around. I listened a lot of finnish and american rap artists but that faded away very fast after I "found" metal music. I still find myself listening some old "classics" time to time though, but those are more a song from there and another from here, instead of full albums.

I have been spreading the word of Haken at every opportunity for a few months now, and this thread is no different

Haken - Cockroach King

Haken - Crystallised

I like a lot of different things, though progressive metal is undoubtedly my favourite genre. Tool, Obligatory Dream Theater, Leprous, etc.
Other music I really enjoy listening depending on my mood are: Kamelot, Devin Townsend and his more usual stuff too, Alter Bridge, and now for something completely different: Caravan Palace and Goldfish

and I'm sure I'm forgetting 90% but whatever :D

I basically just listen to a bunch of more or less metal-ish stuff. Lacuna Coil, Apocalyptica, Dream Evil and Eternal Tears of Sorrow are all great and other than what seems like most people here I actually like Metallica.

Other good songs/artists I enjoy:

I listen to a lot of different genres. Mostly reggae though like Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, and the Expendable because you know, stoner life. When it comes to rap it's all old. Wutang, Biggie, 2Pac, Dre cause I'm white. And then some underground like Atmosphere but they're not underground anymore. I like some metal. Mostly Deftones and Tool and System of a Down. Punk is also my forte. Descendants, Germs, Bad Religion. Irish Punk too! Flogging Molly has been a long time favorite. Recently I've been really into Led Zeppelin again. Bought Houses of the Holy on vinyl yesterday. Worth it. Some 80's too like Violent Femmes, The Smiths (all time favorite forever). Anyone have mutual interests?

ChiefBell : First of all I just read how old you are. Only a year or two older than me and already a trained psychologist? Fuck man what have I done with my life? lol

AS for the music. I blast anything from pop-rock (fallout Boy, Panic At the Disco) to straight metal (Dimmuu Borgior, Iwreteledabearonce, ect) and everything in between (Alesana, Avenged Sevenfold, The Amity Affliction, ect) WAY too many to name. I'm addicted to music.

I've recently (as in, the last four months or so) been jamming to The Color Morale's latest album 'Hold on, Pain Ends'.

Aside from them, I'm a bit all over the place as well, listening to anything from For Today to Twenty One Pilots, Ice Nine Kills to Blink 182, Mac Lethal to Bo Burnham. I like to focus on metal (though I guess not "true metal" by some of the standards i've seen posted), and try to pick artists that I can play along with on my drum kit.
