What do you guys usually listen to when sorting cards, playing a game online @untap.in, or watching Epochalyptik yell at someone for posting in the wrong area?
Please, post your music T/O! Links appreciated!

ChiefBell Nothing like the more primitive soundtrack of Morrowind, or beautiful MIDI noises.

Well this forum is starting to explode!
Can we all stop hating on ChiefBell's age now? Haha.
So we gotta couple drummers, I play guitar, do I hear a T/O band in the works? :P

If you give me lessons I can sing. I certainly have the potential.

I prefer to have music on in the background no matter what I'm doing, unless it's something that requires me to listen (TV, podcasting, video games with good music/sound, etc.).
Lately I've been on a strong kick of music with female vocalists, whether stuff I've recently bought/downloaded or old favorites. Not sure quite why. Some examples from the past week or so have been King Woman, Esben and the Witch, Solar Halos, Acid King, Joan Baez, The Carpenters, Peter, Paul, and Mary, all kinds of stuff.

Rhadamanthus, I just started listening to this band PVRIS; they've gotta female lead. Check em out!
We should totally start a T/O band... just saying.

Honestly, there's a ton of excellent christian metal artists. For Today is definitely my favorite of the bunch, We Came as Romans is another good one, and you can never go wrong with some Devil Wears Prada. I get to see For Today on friday, and I am the pumpest of pumped for the show.
As much as I also love technical metal, I hate to inform you that Djent is not a genre of music, just a sound that guitars make. Regardless, TesseracT is definitely my pet band for music I want to learn. Animals as leaders as well.
Yez plz. I have a camera, I'll shoot a playthrough if this is going to be a thing.

Rhadamanthus you should also check out the new laura marling record.
February 26, 2015 1:33 a.m.
ThatJunkMage, We Came as Romans is not a Christian band, which they've stressed in many interviews...
Also, I'm soooooo down. I can play guitar pretty well. And I can kinda sing, probably better off as a backup or harmonizer. I also can scream, sounding relatively close to BMTH.

Hm... I had just always assumed. Regardless, still a good band.

I can play the clarinet, but I would never do any band stuff. I just play orchestral, classical and concert music.

I can totes sing. Lessons would help though. Just be aware that you aren't going to get a very feminine sound out of me :p

I won't see songs that I know I can't sing, especially not with this voice (ie, being pre-op trans sucks). Like I said, training, recommended. I have the potential, just need the training.

Oh, when we're going for screechy versions of songs, I'm all in for playing the flute: Emotional Titanic Flute
February 26, 2015 3:52 a.m.
Oh my, just no Oakenwind. There's a reason why that song is a Cards Against Humanity card...

THE FLUTE IS TOO DAMN STRONG!
I play Emotional Titanic Flute for and destroy all creatures that have ears or a similar hearing complex!

Hmm ... I'm not actually too sure what my forte is. But definitely nothing with a female lead that has a sing-song voice. I'd never be able to imitate that, not even post-op and with extensive voice transitional training. Hell if I take that transitional training I may become tone-deaf. It is very likely to happen as it happens to a lot of MTF trans.
February 26, 2015 4:12 a.m.
Well you said you can sing. :P What do you sing in the shower?
February 26, 2015 4:14 a.m.
Even pre-op, do you think you could pull off some This Wild Life?

Living Inside the Shell by Steve Conte.
It's a shame that Bodhi Jones isn't known at all to have any videos on youtube.
February 26, 2015 4:55 a.m.
I'm not a fan of songs that downplay the vocals. Like that song would be so much better if the vocals were turned up a bit, and a little more raw. I liked it though, minus how they sell the singer short.
February 26, 2015 4:55 a.m.
Yup, after song two, I'm convinced Steve Conte would be so much better like live...

Suitcase by Bodhi Jones. The best of the songs that I would sing however aren't recorded versions. They are "Where Does the Time Go", "I Used to Know How" and "Work the Night Shift". I had him come and play at my restaurant twice, he's quite handsome and sweet ♥

Oh, and I love spoken word, like the stuff done by Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip (one on my profile).
February 26, 2015 5:06 a.m.
Holy crap, he's catchy. He reminds me of Barenaked Ladies from back in the day...
Your restaurant?

Back when I used to work with my grandparents in Kelowna. We ran a restaurant. My grandfather always wanted to bring in local bands to bring in customers at night, but no one ever came. They always went down to the pub, and other places closer to the beach. It's such a shame, the restaurant reverberates music the best. It's like a recording room.

I listen mostly to progressive metal and rock. I've been on a huge Periphery kick since their new albums came out last month. Periphery isn't for everyone but they are one of the more innovative modern metal groups.
I really like any progressive music, including Coheed and Cambria, Tool, Sikth, Rush, The Algorithm, Dream Theater, etc. Great stuff that really puts me in a mood to think. I love odd time signatures, polyrhythms, and tempo changes.

YouTube is your friend. That's how I find most of my music.
I don't know what your tastes are, so I can't really guess if you'd like any of them.

I'm not very good at matching music, and I don't really know much about music in general, but you could try this.
Saltillo - Ganglion (full album, YouTube)
Saltillo is a trip-hop project from artist menton3, a multi-instrumentalist and fine artist based in Chicago. Ganglion, Saltillo's debut album, shares some of the trip-hop characteristics present in the Bastion OST (Darren Korb). Whereas the Bastion OST might be described as Western-influenced, Saltillo's albums have a rich, dark classical vibe. The tracks heavily feature the violin and drums rather than the guitar; they also feature clips from various speeches, Shakespeare plays, and other pieces. Saltillo has also released Monocyte and the single Paintings for the Flood (which was included in the CD accompaniment to Tome Vol. 1, a fine art folio featuring various artists).

I say you have a good, well-rounded taste in music Epochalyptik. Periphery, Bulb, Intervals, Animals as Leaders, and The Algorithm are some of my favorite groups.
If you haven't heard of Erra, you should give them a shot.

Saltillo just sounds like an inferior Darren Korb to me :/
More work by Darren Korb. Though I still think Bastion is the much better of the two soundtracks.

Some stuff I forgot totally in my first post here is Djent.
I totally love Djent music.
Vildhjarta, TesseracT, Skyharbor, Born of Osiris, Auras, Meshuggah, Periphery, Shokran, Uneven Structure, Veil of Maya and stuff like that. That Djn-Djnt-Djndldjnt-Technical Progressive Metal thing.
