We got a new card called blessed spirits. It has really creepy art. You ready? ok: here it is

That is really creepy

...no it's not? Like, as far as spirits go in Magic, it's extremely tame. Sure, it's kind of feelsy that the ghosts in question are kids, but they're definitely not creepy.

Check the Avacyn restored Spirit token If you look closely, you can see a noose around her neck. Shit be sad, man

VampireArmy That Spirit token goes with Gallows at Willow Hill, which makes it even sadder. It makes me really curious. Was she deemed a witch? Did she commit a crime? :(

Fuck, it is really creepy.

The girl wears a dress and holds a bucket of flowers, which could indicate, that they are married.... That is creepy.

Macabre Waltz and (personally for me) Thousand-legged Kami are amongst the creepiest.

Kids being married is creepy? I think we have different definitions of that word. Plus, this was a reality around 100 years ago and is true even today in some societies.

NorthernRaven - Or that she was mourning him when he died.

Flowers and a dress do not indicate marriage haha.

But does anyone legit know the story behind this card?

I agree: smiling kids floating mid air carrying flowers are creepy any day.

At least zombies are predictably horrific... ;)

If we look at the window, we can see a white bird. Does that remind you of something? The white dove from Christianity.

This kind of window is often seen in churches behind the altar. They are standing in front of the window, which must be in front of the altar. It is in front of the altar, where people get married.

Also, if this was a mourning, the girl would wear a black dress (you rarely wear a white dress at a mourning). The girl is wearing a white dress. Since the boy wears clothes which is non-transparent, and she wears transparent clothes, she must have lighter clothes than him. His clothes looks more brown than black.

All in all, there is a possibility, that they are married, which is creepy.

No I think it's related to the Orzhov hence the church.

I think her dress is dark? If you look at the left side at the bottom? Seems to be shaded a little.

But really, they're almost certainly brother and sister.

They also have extremely close facial features indicating that they are siblings.

My guess? The plane is innistrad. They were murdered during the missing avacyn crisis. he tried to protect her but Gets shot. She later gets poisoned hence why no visible markings of death

ChiefBell says... #17

I do not think they have weapons capable of producing exit wounds on innistrad?

They have crossbows. you can see some in Gather the Townsfolk on the dudes belt. There's another card

Also Daybreak Ranger  Flip those bolts can get huge

They have pikes (which produce exit woounds) and crossbow bolts (which might produce exit wounds in such small children), not to mention rapiers.

Also, these 'dead' obviously come to collect someone. Hence the outstretched hand. There is a lot of suggestion going on in this card.

June 23, 2015 9:28 a.m.

Well, according to the flavor text they were heroes prior to their death. Maybe the 'hero' being something like "keeping hope alive"... who knows?

Anyway, their death may have something to do with their heroic acts.

(sorry for the bad english)

The bird in the stained glass window is either a swan or a heron, meaning it's related to the Church of Avacyn on Innistrad.
