Prerelease Dice Roll Game

Not quite sure where this goes, but I was wondering if there were any physics guys out there to help determine how best to roll the dice for that DTK mini game thing.

There's the URL, its towards the bottom of the article. How should we toss the die to get the most points?

Are you really trying to metagame this? It's a silly activity with worthless prizes, just have fun with it.

The best way to knock all those things over is to throw the dice while at the same time bumping the table.

I don't know how strict everyone else's lgs is about handing out promos tied to activities, but the owner of mine usually just gives out special promos like this. He has the activity available, but he doesn't make it a requirement.

Ideally you throw EXTREMELY hard, then attempt to lightly ride the right wall until you hit the back wall. Then, if you are ABSURDLY lucky, it will ricochet off, knocking down a four and landing on the score doubler!
Or of course, you just call up your good friend ghosty and have him manipulate the ball while it's rolling XD

Something talks me those pieces will be randomly scattered throughout the board and therefore one would need to adapt their stratecy to however it is when they take their turn. Aka, throw the die and hope for the best.

The highest scoring person over the whole weekend at my LGS gets a box of DTK. TEACH ME YOUR WAYS, O PHYSICS PROFESSERS.

@Magicrafter: That seems like a pretty cool incentive to participate. I hope my LGS will do something like that, but I doubt it.

It looks like if you bank it going right to left at the front left 4 point marker you could bank it to bounce left to right and hit the other 4 point marker plus whatever you get before and after those 2. That was my first impression when I saw it. I haven't given it much other thought though. I do want those alternate arts for my Surrak Dragonclaw EDH I'm making...
