Redistributing RIP V2 and EIGRP

General question for anybody who sets up networks as part of their work.

On one router two ports are using EIGRP and the other is using RIP V2.

When I issue the redistribute command for EIGRP while in Router(config-router)# do I need to specificy that it's V2? I am using VLSM and I know that RIP V1 doesn't support that, so I wanted to see if there was a special command when redistributing RIP V2 packets with EIGRP.

Also do I need to input default-metrics into the router's CLI when configuring RIP and EIGRP or is there defaults put into place already?

I found a link here with a section called Redistribution between Enhanced IGRP and RIP and wasn't sure if I needed to type in the bold portions:

For the above, if I skip the "passive interface" then I presume I don't need to worry about access lists?
