What do these cards have in common?

(Hate this post? I enjoy random coincidences, so this is entertaining to me, but I guess I'm easily entertained, so there's that.)

I find it interesting that Conflux is the only one that was actually in the set with the same name.

I wonder if they were looking for set names and just stumbled across some random cards from the past and were like "Yup, that'll work!" Very creative, WotC lol

In Time Spiral block I know for a fact that they specifically names the sets after older cards on purpose.

Well, that would make sense actually; the set is about timeshifting and all.

But what excuse is there for Morningtide? They literally copy-pasted that name, and then swapped it to Eventide for the last set. Not that I find it a lazy design or anything, more of a coincidence really.

That's probably the most perplexing one, unlike Torment and Apocalypse and Conspiracy which I could easily just see bieng coincidences.

That said, I could also just see them being like "yeah, we liked that name so we checked that off for the day and went and ate pizza and played a draft."

JDMCRIB, Spootyone: morningtide and eventide are old english words for morning and evening. I think this sets the flavour for the sets quite well.

In retrospect, I should have anticipated that the community would take the presentation literally. I really just wanted to present some interesting information that I found amusing xD
