So today I decided to take my Modern burn deck apart. I haven't been able to play it as much as I would like to and I've moved on to Legacy anyways.

That said, I feel bad for doing it, it was one of my favorite decks and I just don't have a use for it anymore.

Anybody else get feels taking apart decks?

Yeah I get feels when I move on. It's hard because you grow attached to them.

I felt the exact same way when i did that to my 4-color burn deck After deathrite got banned :(

Then again this is a rare occurence for me because i can never finish decks in the first place lol

I felt kinda bad taking Twin apart. Then I played a friend using my Blue Moon deck against his Tron deck, and ended up stealing an Ulamog on turn 5, and won with it. That helped.

Of course now i've got a bunch of cards I don't know what to do with. I think i'm gonna hold on to the Twins. Might as well. Might eventually get unbanned in two years. Or ten.

I feel you. I recently had to give up something too and its left me quite bitter.

I'm a freelance writer and an author. I basically wake up at nine and write until seven or eight every day. When I take breaks, I surf the web and derp around here. I used to play tons of video games as well. However, this constant use of the mouse and keyboard has led me to develop a stress injury. My wrist is just fucked up.

I can't exactly stop working, so I gave up video games entirely to make sure my wrist doesn't get any worse.

Now, I feel like my life consists of nothing but writing and boredom. I came to the stunning realization that outside of playing commander once a week, I have absolutely no hobbies other than gaming. It's left this huge gap in my life. I honestly don't know what to do with myself these days.

I'm actually in the same boat as you are. I've got a modern deck lying around that I can't use either. It's a U/W midrange build that abuses Restoration Angel and stuff with ETBs. Many of the cards have recently spiked up hard. Wall of Omens has especially skyrocketed. I have absolutely no opportunity to use this deck. I've been thinking of getting rid of the thing for EDH staples. I'd like to own some true duals as well.

There are like 5 decks back at home that are mostly in pieces that I just don't want to fully destroy because either I might rebuild them or they're very nostalgic.

I miss Sphinx's Revelation and AEtherling so much every day. Taking apart that deck when Ravnica rotated was very sad for me.

I definitely get the feels. It'd hard to move on from a favorite deck. That's why standard rotation is typically heartbreaking for me lol

Birthing Pod getting banned really pissed me off, as I had finished it a month before the hammer. I could still build CoCo, as I have the pieces. I dismantled my Modern Esper Mill deck to trade for 12 Post, Modern/Legacy Abzan Midrange (Stoneblade), and so forth. Felt kinda bad about that one as it was a kick ass home brew, but not competitive enough for my liking, even with the best cards available.

But, I now have three competive Legacy decks and four + competive Modern lists. Plus like 4-5 EDH decks. It's kinda like Golgari, death and Regrowth.

As a Burn player, I may be interested in some of your pieces, btw...
