So DotP 2015 is one of the flash sales today, it's getting sold for $3.99, 60% off. Does anyone have any experience with this game, and would they recommend it? A lot of the steam reviews say 2014 is substantially better, and that's only $2.49. Any thoughts?

Honestly, I prefered DotP '15, but I think the only reason it's on sale is because there's a new one coming out very soon for Origins, and that one's a persistent client, so I'd buy that one when it comes out. (called Duels: Origins)

Duels 2015 is okay. I didn't get very much play time or enjoyment out of it compared to the others. That's mostly because of the 100% open deckbuilding feature, which I don't like. Without the arcade-like structure of "here's a list of characters, see what you can do with them", I only ended up building about 4-5 decks from the cards that seemed most interesting to me. I did enjoy the random encounter area of each plane, but again, with only a small handful of decks to play I didn't get very much out of them.

I also still have a bad taste in my mouth from the Premium Boosters nonsense. Because there were several cards in the Premium set that I needed for the decks I was interested in building, I payed actual money for them, and then like a month later they were made free because of the huge player backlash against them (buying enough boosters to fill out the Premium set cost MORE THAN THE FULL GAME WTF). They tried to make up for it by making the expansion free for people who spent money on Premium stuff, but for me that was only about 25% of what I put down.

I don't know for certain whether Duels: Origins will have the open deckbuilding, but it's pretty much impossible to un-ring that bell so it should be expected. I'll probably end up buying it anyway.
